Brunswick Anniversary. Sweet deal?

yes... VERY VERY sweet deal. too bad it's not 4 1/2 x 9. looks like the good rail tops too(not formica) I'd grab it if you're close to it.

Not to be captain anal here, but the ad says 1927 which is not possible.
Many people look at the Brunswick patent dates and think that is when
the table was built.

Perhaps just a typo - 1947 is likely - one piece side rails and wooden,
likely ROOSEWOOD - BTW rail tops.
That is the way the first models<1945> were furnished - not so sure
when they went to 6 rails and formica - IIUC the changes
had happened by 1950-ish

One other point - it is hard to imagine anyone who fully apreciates
just how good these tables were would be satisfied with an 8 footer.

What a great deal and the table looks like its in good condition. You could easily spend $3,000 on a table like that (and still have to put another couple of grand into the restoration). Whoever buys that table is getting a good table at an excellent price (with the potential for an AWESOME table and an excellent price).

I fully appreciate how good these tables are and my space is 1/2 foot short for a 9 footer, so you can only imagine how good this table looks to me with those wooden rails and what looks like very original condition and
that ridiculous price.

But you are right about the size thing, I'm waiting until I can buy a bigger house rather than trying to figure out how to get that beauty to California.

Something tells me the lister's sales experience is about to change somewhat now that this beauty has been posted on AZ. Is this table missing the bands at the bottom of the legs or were some made without?

The earliest versions of the Anniversary came without the bands.

Do any of you guys know any anniversarys with ivory colored skirts and legs? I may be going to look at one...need more photos but I'm guessing it's been painted. I thought they were all walnut....... checked the Brunswick site and didn't see a match.....

No, they never came that way but people did some strange things with paint! Here is an anniversary nicely painted!lol

actually.....

It's my understanding that the very first versions of these tables DID have white(ivory) colored corner castings without side pocket castings...

Yes,you are correct. He asked about the aprons and legs being painted, which they never were. On early models the corner castings were painted along with the area where the metal banding goes.
