Well, I still have to wonder what problem you're trying to address by considering such a rule change. What's the end-goal? Are we trying to make pool less lucky? Is standard 9ball less popular now? What are players' biggest complaints? What are host-rooms' biggest complaints?
The thread questions were more of a "what do you think the rule should be for 9-ball/10-ball and 8-ball in general to play at those games at their best." The additional information of if it's a tour, league or tournament was intentionally left out as adding other elements may sway a person's true belief on how the game should be played. In a nutshell Jude, if you were playing 9-ball/10-ball & /or 8-ball, what rule do you believe to be the fairest rule for the game's integrity?
