Anyone own a Swift Case & whats your thoughts on them?

They are definitely a good price at $300 for a 2X4 and a nice, durable case. They are the basic old style, tubes and felt. Dennis made all the old Widowmaker cases.

His leather soft cases are a good deal at $200 too, but I prefer the hard case.

Have mine for about 25 years now and can't get rid of it. Best I've ever seen....SPF=randyg

wow, thats a beautiful case... just what i want but with my touch .....hope i can still get that style there...thanks for sharing

Bought one off eBay last year. Love it. I sent it back to Dennis to re-do the red lining and put my nickname on the strap. He was easy to work with and did the work quickly; his work was spot on!
Cheers, Mark

Dennis made mine, EXACTLY to my specs. Did a wonderful job. Delivered as promised/WHEN promised. At what I consider to be a VERY FAIR PRICE. I could not be happier.

I have owned a couple Swift cases and I find them to be very durable. Dennis is a bit underrated as a casemaker. He has been at it longer than Justis and probably since Jay Flowers or thereabouts, well 25 years according to the website.

Just real good old school leather crafting. Lately I have seen Dennis branching out into different designs which I find to be very cool. I always admire a leather crafter who is willing to go outside the cookie cutter patterns and try something new.

About the only thing I dont like on them is the use of felt for the liner. I don't like felt, speaking of the type of felt that is used and not "pool table felt" (which I also don't like for case liners for a different reason), I don't like felt because it retains moisture and debris and pills a lot. Pilling is when the fabric sheds fibers and those fibers bunch up into little balls.

Anyway, from a case maker's perspective I find that Dennis Swift cases are a good value, well built, and nice looking.

thanks

thanks for the feedback. i had a feeling it would be all positive. i already ordered a case from Dennis, but didn't really know what i wanted until i saw the colors on your former case cowboy, thats what i really like..i'll let you know how i make out.
