You can try what I do for the Micarta.
List item(s) in "Wanted/For Sale" section - where pics - prices etc
are not only allowed, but demanded - then post a link in one
of the Cumaker sections.
In the W/FS post, you might want to say item is of most interest
to cue makers - if it is something like, oh say, joint pins or butt blanks>

This is just my opinion but a post is a post no matter where it is.
Takes up just as much space no mater where it is posted.
Takes up more if it is posted twice (once for the post and once for the link)
Makes sense to me that machinery specific to cue making would be listed in the cue / machinery section.
As far as materials go, if it is for cue makers, post what you got in the cue makers section but just don't give a price if you would rather not sell to someone that dont make cues.
If they want it they will PM or call you and at that time you can determine if the person is a cue maker or not.
How many sellers would privately turn down someone that was NOT a cue maker or repair person?
Has there been a problem with people who dont make cues buying cue making materials here?
Perhaps it is a problem with people that are not making cues and are selling parts?
I really dont see the big problem here ... can someone please explain?
Are the prices of raw wood and other bits and pieces a big secret?
If so why are the prices posted on the public web sites of cue makers here for all the world to see?
I CAN understand why a cue maker would want to keep his sources a secret.
Just look at the rising price price of wood over the last few years.
Plus good shaft Maple is hard to get and there are people that will by it all and try to make a deal to buy all that is produced in the future.
Making it even harder for the small time cue maker to find some good stuff when he needs it.
People today have more spare time on their hands, more money to spend (contrary to the so called bad economy here in the USA) and there are a lot of people retiring and looking to keep their hands busy. That is why there are so many cue makers scrambling to get good materials today.
