Hi, My dad has a 6 yr old kasson 7' and two of the rails have become rock hard the ball just thuds off the rail. Anyone know why this happened and if there is anything to fix this? Also looking for good table Mech in the north metro in MN if anyone has any recomendations please let me know.He would like to redo the bumpers and cloth with simoniz 860. Thanks, Todd

Kasson's and Amer. Htge tables are the two brands we most commonly see with dead cushions sometimes just a couple years old. I think its just poor materials and the fact they don't use 100% rubber so the fillers in the rubber make it dry out hence rock hard.
Cheap imported rubber= rock hard dried out non performing cushions. Try any of the good name brand K-66 cushions and new cloth...Simonis very good choice, good mechanic....Problem solved!

Yes, And? That doesnt change the fact that alot of tables i come across with the name kasson on them have dead cushions.

I think being anal comes with the territory when you do what we do. I know they went out of business a few years ago, who bought them? Victoria gameroom furnishings are very similar i know. My original statement was that it seems that kassons are at the top of the list when it comes to needing new cushions i presume you would agree?

Agreed...I was just telling a guy who bought a used Vitalie how the table is a mercedes with a hyundai for cushions. They use the master speed grey cushions from Imperial.
I don't recall the outfit that bought them or if the Kasson name got rebranded to something else.
If anyone is near Babitt, MN maybe they could tell us if the plant is still in operation.
We were a Kasson dealer in TN for about 4 years and never had a problem with them.
My son has one since 1999 (voyager model). He just moved to AL and put fresh cloth on during the reset and said it plays like it did when we first set it up. I couldn't say one way or the other that the cushions K used were prone to go bad but I can say that the original 860 cloth held up very well. :thumbup:

Beach ball...-
