3x6 or 4x8 Case - Reviews?

I am looking into various cases that hold multiple cues. My MAIN requirement is that the case have hard tubes with soft felt liners and that the 'top' end of the case doesn't have holes cut into it that fit the butt of the cue or the shafts...I don't want anything rubbing against the butt of my cues.

I've seen a million hard cases for sale out there and I'm not looking for a 300-500 dollar fancy case. I'm looking for something that is all about protection...cosmetics aren't that important to me.

Anyone willing to guide me in the right direction or give their opinions on what cases they feel do the best job of 'gently' protecting a person's cues?

I think I make just the case you want. Our cases have soft fabric liners backed with foam rubber that hold your cues snugly in place and well protected from bumps and scratches.

You may not know me but if you look around you will find that my entire platform is cue protection and I take it very seriously. You will find others who claim that what they make is "good enough" but none who claim to be better. If you want the best protection in a tube case, exactly as you have described it, then you want a case with a JB Interior in it.

Look for the Sterling Brand of cue cases. No other case brand in the price class has this interior as it's exclusive to Sterling. It is the same interior that I put in my JB Cases - www.jbcases.com

You can find the Sterling Cases at www.cuesight.com and other fine retail outlets.

Here is an example of the 3x6 case which sells for $89.

That does look like the type of case I'm looking for...nothing at the top to scuff or rub against the exposed shafts or butts, and soft felt inside that holds them snug. Can't beat the price either.

There will be plenty of them for sale at the Super Billiards Expo - go ahead and call 877-283-7444 however and place your order. If you get the order in NOW then it will be reserved for you and shipped before we take out cases for show inventory. We try hard to never take products to the show when we have pending orders for them from customers.

This case will hold a length of 31.5" parts. So if your shaft, butt, or bridge arm is not more than a total of 31.5" then it will fit easily.

The container left last week so it should be there in about three more.

Yes it works with joint protectors easily. The total capacity lengthwise is 31.5".

You'd need to ask around for other dealers. Sterling Gaming is the exclusive distributor for this type of case as I do not provide this interior to any other distributor. Call 877-283-7444 and they can look in their records and tell you which dealers have received shipments of these for you to call.

I bought a nice 4 by 8 Porper case over a year ago, it is well built and moderately priced. If you have 3 ques, you never know when you might pick up another one. Mine is full, as is my old 2 by 4 Porper from the late 80's.:smile:

i don't mean to hi-jack a thread but clark has closed his "rules" thread to responses. it seems stupid to me to not be able to reqest a review in the review section. why shouldn't you be able to? and why close that thread? why net let people ask qestions like this one? where is a better place to say hey i need a review - than in a review section? it would just appear to be more logical to do it there than it does to do it here where it will get lost amoung dozens of topics not concerning reviews. what ever. oh and btw. to the op - jb does make a very good case that fits your needs but so does porper and they may be a little less if cost is an issue.

So you believe that this model (Sterling) is the best case for the money in terms of storage and protection?? I'm in the market for a 2x4. I recently bought an It's George 1x2 but I realized as I got serious about the game again I needed to carry a jump and break cue also. Would people recommend this Sterling 2x4? can be had for about $75 on the site. I have a knockoff Instroke that has worked very well but I recently got joint protectors built by Jim Baxter and the cue with JP is just a tiny bit too long (think I stuffed the case when I was naive and young)....

I thought the same thing. I put the post in the Cases forum in the
'Product Review - This forum is for fair, non-biased, factual reviews of products and services.' category...I thought that's where it should go.

But, I'm new here and I don't want to make waves, so I stfu and followed my thread here ;)
 
Looks like a good case....I'll check it out at the SBE. I agree this is the better spot for "reviews"....can be found easily here. Just like the mechanics section is for ALL questions mechanical, not specific questions only or limited to asking questions about your table only. It makes sense.......makes it easier...want info on a case, got a question about a case, looking for a case....go to the case review section. Well, that's my opinion anyway.....:cool:

I haven't checked the Cuesight.com site recently, but I do know that Sterling also makes the Wave case in a 2x5/3x4 configuration....same materials in the interior, as John designed this case as well.
