Driving Me Bonkers

Dirty young men -Dirty old men

We're all dogs. It's all your fault. Your hot. We're dogs. Wear a bhurka. No, no, please don't. I promise I will suffer in silence and only observe your skills at pool. (heh, heh)

Celtic...This has been debated to death, but the bottomline is this. You're wrong! There is ZERO reason women cannot be just as good as men at any pool game. Some guys debate that women are weaker, therefore they cannot break as hard, but that argument doesn't hold water either. The break is about timing, not strength (otherwise the 800 gorilla would have the best break...and they don't). Want to really know why men are better? It's because they've had 100+ years of strong competition. Women, by contrast, have been playing competitively for really less than 30 years (and the improvement overall in women in pool has been most dramatic in the past 10 years). They will catch up, and you will see men playing side by side with the women, in terms of skill. Will it happen in my lifetime? I don't know...but it will happen.

As far as Debbie R. goes...she definitely qualifies as a "hottie", and does play in high heels. She has a huge competitive drive, is very confident, and possesses some skill at the table. She's had lessons from some great players, and has a pretty good routine. Like most players, she could benefit from getting some instruction that included video analysis.

Celtic is some what correct. Scientist determined women don't possess the same level of killer instinct as a man. Of course this is in general with its exceptions. After thousands of years hunting, we have a stronger urge to win/kill.
I think this is rapidly changing. Divorce is proof! They go for the throat and seem to be perfecting the killer instinct .

I know how she feels though, I had a gay guy tell me that I had a nice ass (while I was laying on table taking a shot). It does make it tough shooting knowing someone is looking at your ass and talking to you.

So to gay guys (not women)

Shoo while I'm playing. I have enough to think about while shooting. I don't need my ass added to the list.

I would once again remind all you men who have responded, to re-read Mizz Debbie's initial post. Especially where she says, "So to all men on here, leave us alone!" I don't think she could make things any clearer than that. Do you?

Great thread with a pretty common problem that inspired me 10yrs ago to make the back cover of my guaranteed improvement drill book look like this;

The problem definitely is worse for women in general but can be a problem for all aspiring players. I use to tell my students to never leave their chair empty, put your pool case, purse, jacket whatever it takes but don’t leave that empty chair there.
I like the ipod idea, definitely helps.
I agree totally that women can and will play ever bit as good as men or better.
RJ keep in mind some people can’t see the shots as good with a short bridge.
Jason, nice with the killer divorce proof
And vette, daddy with the tight flowered shirt walking towards you, you made me lol right off the bat.
There were other interesting points but I forgot them after reading all 7 pages.

Keep up the good practice Deb

Joe T,
Has been interrupted in the thousands

I think that most of us responding here have been good-natured about it, and most likely are not the cause of the problems she faces while practicing.

Since it is obviously not a problem that I have to face, I cannot imagine how tiring it must be to be an extremely attractive person, and to have to deal with all that goes with it. With all the desired attention must come plenty of unwanted attention. Dressing the part adds to that issue. It always amazes me when an attractive young woman dresses in a way I would consider to be attention-getting, and then gets annoyed when people look at her. I'm not suggesting this is the case with Debbie, more of a larger, general observation for ladies everywhere. Dress for attention, get attention.

I wish you luck with all your pool-shooting endeavors, Debbie. I'm not gonna apologize for appreciating your appearance. But I wouldn't be the one bothering you, either...

See , Men are dense too. :)

Speak for yourself.

LOL.
For a female, it's all about getting attention, when they WANT it.
Like any guy on earth has a shot of figuring that out, when a female will change her mind in a matter of seconds anyway.

Only desperate guys are actually going to try and pick up a girl giving them pointers while they are practicing. That's just tacky. A guy who does that has NO GAME!

Better to leave them alone and strip them of every single shred of attention and make them have a complex about what might be wrong with them and why no one talks to them.

Believe me, you take away every shred of attention, they might lose their mind. :D

WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING ?

Your giving away the best kept secret known to (few) men !!

Shhhhhhhhh !

I agree with PROG8R. And after checking out those pics I can understand why you keep getting interrupted...
Best of luck keeping the dogs at bay.

Yep, no wonder she keeps getting interrupted! I loved that photo of you at Derby, Debbie.

Good luck with everything and keep us posted.

:)

Superstar dropped the ball big time, that's definitely men's information. The key of it all is to be one of those people that lots of people know anyway so when a newbie comes around they almost feel left out that they don't know you.

A quick how I met my current girlfriend story. It was the playoffs in league. Final match, SL7 Vs. SL7 so a good race to 5 for me and the guy I was playing. Anyway I'm generally loud and like to be vocal while I get to business, it keeps me focused. Well I look over and see this 'new girl' talking to a female friend of mine. Long story short I shot perfect, won 5-0, and talked to my friend throughout the match. Not a single word to the unknown but lots of smiles. After the match I go outside and my furrent girlfriend comes out and introduces herself to me. Been with me ever since.

Key to it all...ignore ignore ignore!

I am just curious, if SVB or CD or JA walked up, and pointed a flaw and offered to help, would you have shooed them away. Some people probably really wanted to help you. As far as the pain in the a** ones, they will always be around, and are too stupid to change.

There is no dropping of the ball. Girls flat out know this.
Does knowing it in any way stop them from being drawn to the person who totally disses them when they are used to getting tons of attention?

Nope!

Wonder what Debbie would do if someone came in and DIDN'T pay attention to her, who then ignored her and didn't fall all over themselves talking about how awesome looking she was, but instead was like...Eeeewww.

Now THAT would be fun to watch.

you should include another sign

Unfortunately, for every 1 guy willing to do this, there is 99 that will give her every bit of attention she desires and then some...

You ignore her, there's 10 others that will buy her a steak so you better look like brad pitt if you think this is going to work.

You don't get it, do you.

If you don't get it, then i am not about to explain it to you.

But it's safe to say that you are wrong.
Like BIG TIME wrong.

I think your braggin'

Need i say more.
Some people just have no game.

If your such a damned good sociopath how about you start actin'
like one.Your bein' to effing rational. Your giving us devoted sociopaths
a bad name. (or is it a good name?) Your right . I have no (let's say very little) game. If ever I saw Debbie in a poolroom I would be asking for tips , not trying to give them.

What she would do is change games. Probably take up bowling.
None of this has anything to do with men who bother her during practice, but everything to do with her getting herself out there. Look how long this idiot thread has gone.
