AZ'rs I met in Tulsa

Think we met briefly, I was the dashingly handsome guy in the Kansas Jayhawks gear that asked you to sit in the booth with ray!

I do remember you but didn't realize you were one of the Azers, sorry. I will add you to the list :).

I wish we had more time to talk. You were handsome! But don't even think about this as being close to Fast Lenny & Scott's man crush thing :).

It was nice meeting you too my friend! Lots of great Azers there and enjoyed talking to each and everyone. Although, I dont think I ever got to meet greyghost:sorry: Sorry brother....would have liked to have met ya....always next time though:smile:

Yea man I was all over the place visiting with every one, were you taking some photos with a big black camera and had a black hustlin hat on? I was just off the air the whole tourney.

I met quite a few of you too, I met akatrigger, and Ron an had a good conversation while watching the WHO DAT nation come out on top.

The whole tournament was hard to watch lmao. I was sitting next to Joey Thurs night against Parica, and the 10 ball ring game was going on right next to us. Matlock was playin a few tables over, and it was Jeff Melton and James Walden I believe. And Cliff Playing that kid Olsen.

I told Darry Pierce "man where is the TIVO when you need it!" lol

It was a great event and I was really glad that all the players showed up, as Jim, Gabe, Danny & Evlyn put on a great tournament.

The Feed and TV table looked AMAZING. (GREAT JOB RAY!)

I actually made that Aaron Bolling (guy must be 6'6"+) reach for a shot! And he still could not reach! LMAO I don't know what was funnier when i made him reach for that shot, or when he played Parica and put the rack on the light. Parica just pointed up and Aaron had to grab it as is don't think Parica could have gotten it if he climbed up on the table.

Ok, I remember you....and yea, maybe there should have been step stools so Jose could have reached the rack.....I think it was a shark move myself..

Shawn,

Is was really nice to meet you. The VERY generous offer that you made to pay for the PPV for someone less fortunate was a testimony to your core values. The person who received your kind gesture was the father of a fellow AZer. Kudos my brother!

Ray
(and some green too! ;) )

I was down there...I was in ninja stealth mode though, but I did take a moment to introduce myself to Ray "bigtruck"...I did think for a moment, "I wonder how many of these people are AZ'ers?"...

Oh...and I was the other guy in the Kansas Jayhawks shirt (dark with long sleeves)...

We could have had a 32 person AZ mini tournament! LOL

Nice meeting you too!

!!!!! My first WEI table post :)

i agree lol I was playing Aaron earlier won the first rack then was down a couple games when I realized the Saints were playing. Paid him his $40 and he opened up about how the colts were going to win....so I told him to bet $50....

I made a few great shots during the tourney I needed 2 and Cracker needed 5. I had a ball sitting in my hole and cross banked the 1 into the 3 ball but left the CB too high while the 1ball sat on the rail next to my hole. So I shot Johns ball in with follow and made it and the CB caromed off down the rail and pocketed my ball for the win. ( i was kinda pissed at the moment b/c i had just gotten back into the match and as I was getting down Aaron ran smack into my little arse. It jarred the hell out of me, and cracker told him to calm down and quit running all over the place....i was mad as hell when i didn't get the shot i wanted on the 1 ball, and saw the "scratch shot kick" and pounded her in)

As a side note I want to thank Sung for refinishing that old Huebler of mine....everyone loved it, and it was about time the ol girl had a makeover...thanks much brother. :)

.....clip..... I swear that Ray has at least 4 hands and two brains, with all the things that he is doing while still maintaining the commentary. His set up is incredible and only getting better each and every event. ---clip-----

Don,

From a mods perspective: 6 hands and 4 brains (and this is probably a gross understatement). What is not seen by the onlooker is his simultaneous interaction with the mods (PMs, emails, Twitters, texting, Facebook, thread pumps, concern over viewer technical issues, research for needed/viewer requested info, and on and on.....Ray is amazing/has a serious amount of span-of-control.

Thanks for the kind words in regards to the "set up "and "things getting better every event". It's not just a "plug-in and turn-on thing" like some think-->Bigtruck and the Stream Team put in more time, effort, and money than most realize. It is a labor of love (for the game) and the strong desire to bring our sport to the world in a positive light that has gotten us this far and pushing us ever forward. TV be damned:rolleyes:!!!

You have been a supporter from the get-go and that is very much appreciated. It is people like you, in no small way, that "drove the truck crew" to where it is today and make all the aforementioned things worthwhile!

Thanks again Don and we'll see you on stream this weekend! I will not be there the "entire time" as I have to get home --- been away for a month and Momma has a honey-do list as long as my cue:D.

Bob <Hoping someday Ray can actually turn a profit and be able to insure that The Bigtruck Show can stay true to it's motto... "where no chicken is safe!!">

Hello again Dave... it was nice to have met you. I look forward to seeing you sometime, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains...

Don't feel bad Dave, Ray scolded me for over analyzing the match I sat in on for a few games.:):embarrassed2: I swear that Ray has at least 4 hands and two brains, with all the things that he is doing while still maintaing the commentary. His set up is incredible and only getting better each and every event.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting several of the AZers there at the event, I wish I could have met more but I was always sweating the TV table or in action the entire time I was at the event.

As always Jim McDermott provides a great environment for the players. Gabe was a wonderful host and Evelyn and Danny Dysart kept the tournament moving along nicely. That was a great event that I hope continues to only grow into a larger and larger one pocket event in years to come.

I wish we could have played one pocket, sorry I god kidnapped into playing a guy that I beat 20 years ago in 9-ball. That was the first time I gambled at 9-ball in about a decade, luckily he forced me to come away with a little cheese;):)

Holy crap, Coats was there? How in the hell did I miss you? I'd be surprised if you beat anyone in 9-ball 20 years ago since you couldn't run 3 balls yourself, lol! :D

Just teasin', man. Check your PM's

Just Got Back Online

Just wanted to give a shout out to all the folks I met at the T-Town one pocket tournament. 12 squared (Dave, enjoyed hangin out with you) mentioned almost everyone I met, so I won't list names here, but suffice to say I had a great time and look forward to meeting everybody down the line.

BTW, the play and venue were excellent and BigTruck is the man for all he does for pool.

I just returned from Tulsa where I tried to play in the 1-pocket tournament. The event was really great and I hear the sponsors want to do it again next year, so that is great news for all. Gabe was a great host and all the folks that helped run the tournament and all the Magoo's staff were terrific.

What I personally learned (note to self): don't play on the tv table, & I cannot be the primary commentator in the booth. I would be fun with someone who can commentate then I can just pipe in and be funny, with the occassional insight) :frown:. But I thank Ray for giving me a try.

AZ'rs I met (in no particular order): Hell on Heelz; akaTrigger (Happy Birthday!); Big Truck; Cuephoric (but I already knew Shane); Richardson; TheMadScientist; GreyGhost; LoveTheGame (knew Ron, too); The Coats; Jes Piddlin; CrownCues; ftgokie; & TxOnePocket. There may have been more but I can't remember and didn't write them down. I also think I met that Charlie guy who makes the BreakRak - he was in a wheelchair and very nice.

I want to thank everyone I met from our community for being so friendly. Although I tracel alone to Tulsa and have never been in that part of the country, I felt like I had plenty of friends. Thanks.

Dave

It was nice to meet you, too, Dave!

Here is a pic of Dave and I:

No problems brother, thats why I was so ecstatic when I had him stretching for all he could get and still couldn't get there. And thats one hell of an accomplishment to hook a big fella like that lol, Dave he even tried sitting on the table and touching a toe! And he was just inches shy lmao.

We didn't get any snow offshore, but my gal said it snowed today in Lafayette.

Aaron said he would bet people he could rack the balls from the breaking end on a bar table - that's a looooooong reach :).

Hey Dave
Sounds like you`ll be going to next years event. By the sounds of it you had a great time playing & meeting other AZers. Well done Dave, well done.
