New fixture for centering 1" dowels

Dowelling machines are the shizzle......but they are indiscriminate about the cut. They make that square a dowel, regardless of grain orientation. The tricky work comes in the boards before any squares are cut.

I caliper the size and depth of the holes. They have to .167" deep by .167" wide.:thumbup:

I use a spokeshave on all my shafts, and they're perfectly centered.

You ever heard of a stop? I get the same depth and size hole on every shaft I center drill.
