Is it ok to toot your own horn?

I wanted to link to this, not to brag about the job we did. I wanted to post this because there's been some question lately about what came out of the Alsip Seminar.

No, Felice isn't blowing up our phone with recovers. No, Glen hasn't kidnapped us from Dayton to take us on the road with him. (Yet?) But yes, we've gotten a lot of work like this after the seminar.

This guy was very generous, offering us more than what was quoted, and putting us up in a room for the night since we put in more time than was expected to make it right. We had a lot of fun doing this job, and driving 6 hours each way on snow covered highways was a little thrilling too!

Going above and beyond for your customers is what seperates you from the average installer. Doing a knock out job seperates you from the average mechanic. You and Don deserve the limelight. Enjoy it!

Tooting your own horn is what brings about the attention needed to expand ones reputation as a quality mechanic....but it's also backed up with pictures of ones work performed....as proof. This is why I've posted the pictures of my work on AZ, as to inform customers as to what's right and what's wrong with mechanic's work, that's what makes it harder for hacks to get away with the bs they try and pull,....so toot away

Bragging on one's self is different than having confidants in your work, enough confidants to post pictures of your work that other mechanics might appreciate the work, maybe learn something from it, or correct what the person did that posted pic's of the work.

Actually it is fine to toot, your horn or otherwise. Its always nice to be appreciated by the customer and its one of the reasons why you get that sense of satisfaction. Hope I spelled it all correctly as I don't use spell check

Hmmm...if I never tooted my own horn once in a while...you'd never know who I was today...now would you If I never tooted my own horn, AZ mechanic's section wouldn't be what it is today either
