Getting Close - Cues for SBE

I've got a lot of inlaying to do over the next couple of weeks. Some of these may not make it. A couple in the photos are already spoken for and being delivered at the show. In addition to these, I have 3 or 4 more with potential, including a Brazilian Rosewood on Brazilian Rosewood with inlaid Ivory Rings in all positions, including 2 in the handle area. The complexity of the rest of the inlays will probably be the deciding factor as to whether it makes it or not.

The one sticking out of the photo at the top was the 8 point pink ivory & snakewood cue I've posted before. I got tired of looking at it and cut it in half. I had been working on that cue for maybe close to 2 years. The snakewood in the Butt and one of the points cracked. I think I am done with snakewood.

These will have matching inlays. Rosewood on Rosewood and Ebony on Ebony. These are both spoken for.

This has been posted before, but it's for Steve Lipsky. I told him to give me some incentive to finish it and come see me. He said he'd make a trip to the Expo, so I will have the cue finished for him finally. If he can't make it, I'll stop by his house on my way home.

Can`t wait to meet you & see your cues up close & personal at the SBE show. Thanks for sharing and can`t wait to see them in the finished stage. Keep up the great work sir.

Cues for the SBE

Tony, I have two of your cues and one is a Brazilian rosewood-on- Brosewood which is my favorite. When you complete your rosewood with the ivory rings in all positions, please contact me: PVD1@cox.net, so I can have an opportunity to possibly buy this cue. I am saddened by your problems with snakewood cracking, which is somewhat like ivory cracking in certain changes of temperature and humidity. Back in 2006 when I was working the Cornerstone booth at Valley Forge with Bill Grassley, we had over $60,000 mostly ivory, and some snakewood, damage when the Convention center opened the delivery doors without alerting us. The booth was next to the delivery doors area. Some of these cues were mine. Best wishes and God Bless, Paul Del Giudice.

Will you be at the SBE this year? I'm not sure if that cue will be done. I will have some pics of it in a day or two.

I won't be hard to find. Just look for the guy chasing a 3 year old around who won't listen to him.

Isn't it just great being a father! I have twin 18 month boys that I chase, and if I had hair I would pull it out. :eek:

Tony, I love your veneer work as well as the combinations you choose. Great work as always!

Kenny and Mickey, none of those are yours. I'll try to add yours to the photos at the end of the week. I know Mickey's won't be ready by the SBE. Not sure about yours Kenny. Depends on if I'm up to 99 and 100 yet.
 
Here's the other Braz Rosewood on Braz Rosewood. Photo's not that good. The forearm wood is very dark. The point wood has really nice figure, it's just hard to make it out in the photo.

The joint end just has a piece of white phenolic for now. It will have an Ivory Ring, thin Black Ring and an Ivory Joint when finished.

The wrap will be a segmented Elephant Ear with Inlaid Ivory Rings separating the sections.

I hope to have it finished in time for the show, but I'm not sure what the inlays will be yet, so if it gets too complex, it won't make it.

Definitely like that first one better.... it just has that "old school" touch to it.

They all look nice though.

i don't know ross, i really like the second one better, it's a great combination of colors that tony has become known for. i'll bet that cue is going to look great with all those rings and an ivory joint. i can't wait to see what the inlays look like. but you are correct, they all look nice.

Both cues are nice, however i have to agree with you Guy that the second one has the traditional look with a Zinzola "touch". Cannot wait to see the cue when its finished.
