Why are there so many people making $$$$, by selling&trading on this wonderful site and they don't support it.I have a list of over 15 people just this morning who have sales and trades of 10 or more that are not club members.Just got to say that is pretty sad.I think I am going to continue with my list of the top 100 and soon post it.----I'll keep in touch.

club membership

Trying to just understand matt, lets sit back and let see how high the count goes,Thanks for helping out my list your #-----16-----maybe we can have a drawing in the end.

Club Membership

Club membership seems to be a continuing debate.
Anyone who can afford it and people using AZ just to make a buck should join.
This is an open forum that moves quickly because of the vast membership, and I doubt the administration wants to inhibit the growth.
I can't see it going to a manditory membership any time soon, but if you are primarily selling-trading or running raffles,
you should join out of courtesy.

No problem. I am not a "paid member" but i have done sales with people who are and are not members. I have also by email and word of mouth promoted the sh*t out of this site to people I know because I have a passion for this game and want to share the info with my friends. I can think of multiple people that have signed up that are friends of mine after talking to them. If I am forced to pay eventually to be able to post and do sales/trades, it won't hurt my feelings.

Does it make you all warm and fuzzy inside to create this list and then post it? Looks like you are just tooting your horn trying to stir the pot. Here, lets piss off the top trade/sales members who help create interest, posts, sales, and new membership in this site just because they don't have a yellow club member logo by their avatar. Hank, I think you forgot to snap the second strap on your helmet today.

An active marketplace is itself a draw for visitors. The more content that is posted the better off AZ is.

So in a way they are supporting AZ by being here and posting ads.

Craigslist for example is only successful by the sheer number of ads posted and the vast majority of those ads are not paid for. But it's that content that brings people to Craigslist.

I don't think it's right to guilt people into being paid members. I do think it's pretty sad though that one AZ poster mocks the club members with his avatar. But that's another discussion for another time.

I personally think that if anyone is selling regularly and doing decent business here then they should want to donate towards keeping the site going. But if they don't then they don't.

The guilt trip rarely works though imo.

I think a couple of guys called Hitler and Himmler tried implementing a similar strategy over in Germany a few years back... Don't quite remember how that one turned out, though... You might be onto something.

Perhaps you should design a chic red armband for members to wear and choreograph a dignified salute for members to salute.

Perhaps nonmembers should be forced to wear a yellow star, or better yet, why not just make them dump cans of yellow paint over their own heads?

This, Sir, sounds like a plan.

Hank you can add me too....I've been a member here for 5 or more years, and I promote AZB every chance I get....like the upcoming EXPO here in PA. Last year I wore a big name tag on my TAR shirt that said ....HI, I'M GERRY ON AZBILLIARDS.COM

All kinds of people asked me what it was about. Mike and Jerry F got a kick out of it as well. I also do my best to buy from the commercial sellers who advertise here.

I don't make a living selling stuff here, but I have bought and sold with some great people, and have not had one issue with anyone.

If you feel better putting me on your gay list go ahead....I'm actually looking forward to being towards the top.....and I"ll add my number on the list under my avatar.

tool!

Hank. I agree with you 100% and said that before. Anybody doing sales or trades should contribute with the AZ Membership.
Usually the ones that complain about it are way to cheap to help, in the other hand they have no problems selling/trading cues for thousands of dollars.
I really don't care what kind of lame excuse they give and I've seen quite good ones
I have not been able to figure that one out yet...

Hank. Welcome to the forum with your 89 posts, your finger pointing style, and your list of top 100 non- contributing AZB'ers, there.

Take a minute and have a look at the very first sticky thread in the Main Forum "Club Membership."

I actually have 3 or 4 deals on AZB that aren't reported on itrader, but I'm not worried about it at all. As I understand it, iTrader is so people have an idea of whether or not to trust someone in a future deal- it's not necessarily for reporting taxes or personal contributions to AZB. Don't rely too heavily on those numbers.

While ALL poolplayers have to think at some time or another about what's in the other guy's pockets, we also have to learn to use a little finesse and to show some respect- just to get along in the family.

You can add me to your top 100 list if you like, but I'm broke, times is hard, and I just don't have the money to be a club member at the moment. If it came down to it, I would contribute to the Mike Cochran fundraiser, rather than buy a yellow bar and some extra PM space right now.

I think this statement right there will give a thread 10 miles long and I am surprised that those people are still posting. The avatar is just desrespectful, period.

I can handle the selling without membership. It draws people in. Seems a little annoying on the "What is wrong with pool" threads though, when non members talk about the lack of financial support in pool.

Tony, without getting into it to much, who's avatar is this referring too? You can PM if you dont want to publicly call it out. Thanks

No need to PM. It is public record.
I have ask him to remove it. I was told he has good reason.
There is no good reason to mock Club Membership.
I have reported it and ask that it be removed.
There has been no responce.
I think it is time for contributing members to join in the effort.
Using This clubmember (Small).jpg as an avatar when you are not a member is unacceptable period.:mad:

There are several people with "club like" banners in their avatar, it's no secret, been done by many people for a long time. Joining the AZ Club is voluntary, not a requirement.

Are you aware that memberships expire? How long should one have to have a membership to be able to sell a cue? If I sell a cheap break cue cue for $75, should I have to purchase a year membership that will cost me nearly half of what the cue is selling for? Should I shift that extra cost onto the consumer and raise the price? How about buying one that doesn't cost as much, but that will expire sooner, will I be berated for not contributing monetarily to the board, even though I actually have?

I feel that people who run billiard businesses and do lots of business on this board need to pay a sponsorship fee. I do not, however, think your average joe user needs to pay.

Look, stop adding drama that isn't there. My avatar is not to "mock" club members. If anything, I like to have a lil fun and humor in life. I also noticed in this thread that JBidiot is also trying to fan the flames of drama again. Somethings wrong with that guy.

Thanks for reporting it

Ya know something, Jeff? Your post really sucks.

First, you need to get the story straight; you PM'd me out of the blue to ask that I join the AZB club. I politely declined and said "I have my reasons, I respect your views, please respect mine". Then, you take that and twist it, per your post above.

Secondly, is it really a cool thing that you are harassing members via PM and blatant posts on this forum?

I realize that you do a decent amount of business on AZB, through the website/forum and sell lots of stuff. Could it be that you feel that if you harass enough forum members to pay for a membership, that it would justify all the sales that you do on AZB without PAYING FOR ADVERTISEMENT? Perhaps you should be paying for a banner or buying advertisement??
