Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I agree that we should do a 10-ball tourney instead of a ring game on the 13th. We have never had a big table 10-ball tourney here before, so that would be alot of fun. Ring games are fun too, but I think a tourney would get more people to play. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am looking forward to the next one pocket tourney too. Never thought I would get into that game.

So how many guys would be up for playin a ring game after league on monday nights?
 
I am wanting some cheap 10 ball action on the 9 foot Diamonds. I will be there Friday early afternoon. I am willing to make a fair game.

I know you are kidding, but to clarify, anyone that has gambled with me knows that I make a pretty good effort to play an even game.

fair game is true! Funny you have to tell eveyone you MEAN it cause of the standard of trying to rob someone all the time. :)

Yep, not trying to rob anyone. Just trying to get some good practice in. Yes, I will be at State.
 
I am of course kidding hence the j/k...just giving some grief. Good luck to everyone in state as well as regionals this weekend. Whoever I was scheduled to play just got a bye in 8 ball.

Getting hurt was the most optimal way to get out of going to state for sure.
 
So who all thinks Jesse Bowman would beat John Schmidt playing even one pocket? We were kicking it around yesterday at the pool hall, I'm the only one who thought Schmidt would win. I based it on the fact that Schmidt played on the table while the felt was worn, the balls rolled out, and the pockets felt a little too small. Jesse looks unbeatable on our tables but the conditions are a lot closer to perfect right now. I just feel like Schmidt is an accomplished tournament one hole player, don't know much about his one pocket gambling victories.

I think they would play even with the edge to the world champion in this one. I say Schmidt pulls it out if they play by a narrow margin but it's close and would be fun to see. What do you all think?

Boy... I just don't know. Jesse's wide open play is certainly a force to be reconned with. Well, can't you get in touch with them? Let's set something up Mikey "Don King" Frost and put Des Moines on the map! I would pay to see that!

It's hard to freewheel against a champion though...and also John won't give many opportunities for Jesse to freewheel. This is hypothetical I don't think they would play. It's only those two names because they are the last two top level players to play in town. I do like John's side though.

I doubt they would play either. Matching up with Mr. 400 might kill some of Jessie's action.

Ah ha!! I had a feeling all this "won't play" talk would suck you in John! Just kidding!! Honestly I would love to watch both of you play! It's just all of us here in little old Iowa don't get to the Expo much, so we would probably miss it..... but there always is the STREAM. YOU DA MAN JOHN!:bow-down:

Somebody might have his number, I never saved it and things don't last very long in my phone. I like your side of it though John and I would bet on you. Jess is a hell of a player though.

John any big one pocket wins for you? Not tourneys either I mean gambling! Just a question you don't have to answer it, I was wondering though.
