~~New Josey Cue - The Dark Knight~~

After hearing so many great things about Keith's cues, I had to try one for myself. Now, after seeing his work first hand, and playing with this cue for about an hour, I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions of my life!

The design on this cue was a combination of 2 cues posted on AZ that I absolutely loved. The first, was Myron's (Alpine 9430) Vollmer cue, and the later, was Jamie's (Worminator) ebony Josey. I discussed combining the two designs with Keith, and the finished product was even better than I had imagined!

The forearm of this cue is one of, if not THE LAST piece of Jet-Black Gaboon ebony Keith had on hand, and was saving for a special cue. I guess mine fit the bill! The front of this cue literally looks like it was dipped in paint! The combination of the super dark forearm and the mirror like quality of the stainless collar on the joint is just perfect!

The inlay work on the back end is first rate, and this is THE FIRST cue with Keith's new Logo - a silver scripted "J".

I have to say that the wrap on this cue is hands down the best I've ever seen. The seam is invisible in anything but extemely strong light. I went around the cue TWICE before I actually found it. Now THAT is a great wrap.

Finally the shaft and tip combo is absolutely the nuts! These are Keith's stock shafts (not the timeless timber), and they are some of the finest I've seen or felt. These just blew me away. Also the phenolic ferrules and Kamui Black Soft tips are the magic combination, as far as I'm concerned.

Overall I could not be happier about this cue or the way it turned out. The customer service from Keith and Sherri are second to none, and this cue is absolutely a work of art. I'll log some more time with this beast, and post a full review in a few weeks.

Keith and Sherri, thank you for making "The Dark Knight" a dream come true!!!

Nice cue..
Has the flavor of wild BOAR..

Mike...it came out just beautifully!!!! I knew that Keith was getting close to running out of the flawless jet ebony a little while ago...congrats on getting some of the last of it!!

The inlays are great and just the right nice touch for this cue. A terrific balance on the whole cue. Well done Keith and well done Tim.

Mike....I just KNEW you would be happy with this choice...I truly never had any doubt. It just makes me happy that you got something that you are absolutely delighted with....this is what a terrific cue 'journey' should be...I am so glad you got to experience that!

So....kinda diggin' Keith's new logo. :yeah: I have about another 4-6 weeks to go....sometime in April. So yeah....I will admit that I am gettin' kinda ansy myself...especially after the slight order change yesterday. My order has been about a 1.5 yr coming and a bit over-due...but I am glad I waited...this one is gonna be equally as special as yours...to me, anyways. :)

Man....your cue is just sooooo pretty!! And thank you so much for sharing such a special experience...it's always so nice to hear a happy ending.

Nice cue ...

I like the elegant J logo .. not crazy about BB-ish butt sleeve design, IMHO ...

I bet it plays jams up though. I like the taper on his shafts. Keith and Sherry are good people first and also fine cue maker.

Is the cue cored or not? Looking down the pin it looks uncored.

I know, I know!!...but I'll let Mike answer.

Lisa=====>thinks she may have had a wee bit too much fun owning the table most of the night. :embarrassed2:

Great contemporary cue, and the new logo could not be more "perfect". Perfect choice Keith!! I might try to pry this from your hands!!!

Mike

After all the e-mail exchanges we went through, I can honestly say I was very excited to see the pictures of the cue.
The cue is exceptionally beautiful and I am amazed at the design of the inlay work.
Speaks volumes for the creativeness for the design and the master craftsman who completed the work.
Incredible throughtout!
I would love to see a close up shot of the ferrules and tips on the shafts if at all possible.

Enjoy and let me know how it hits.
Reps - coming!

New Josey

Mike,

From reading your write up on your new Josey cue it sounds like you are very satisfied with the cue. I know Keith and Sherri and you couldn't have found 2 nicer people to order your cue from and I think the cue turned out great. I know everyone will be looking forward to hearing how it plays......

Great cue Mike. Keith and Sherri are great people and make phenominal cues.

I have seen that inlay pattern somewhere before....

Congratulations on your new cue. It turned out great. I love the design and ebony is always awesome. I hope you play well and enjoy that cue.

Grats and what a beauty!

I've got an order in with Josey myself right now... but I'm a bit undecided about the tip choice - I was thinking a softer tip would complement the stiff shaft, but I wasn't 100% sure about it - Those Kamui Black Soft tips sure seem to be popular... I just might update my order ;-)

Very classy cue. The more I see Josey cues the more I am interested in getting one. I will have to take one for a test drive at the SBE.

Congratulations,
Chris

Very nice

I like it. I like the inlay pattern. Very unique. Very nice design. I like ebony cues------ I am wondering how it plays. Josey is great to deal with.

Wow! nice cue ;) I hope mine will come soon!
I really like the new logo... not sure if mine will come with it.

Tips...

I would love to see a close up shot of the ferrules and tips on the shafts if at all possible. Myron

Here you go pal!

The Shafts are awesome. Probably the best I've felt. There is no seam between the shaft and ferrule, either. It's super smooth.

I really like the Kamui Black Soft tips, too. They feel perfect, and have tremendous grip.

I think the softer tip/harder ferrule combo is perfect for my game!
