10 ball Stream from SBE?

I have too much response for this, in the short time I have, while here at Valley Forge. I hate writing the little novels to say what I need to say. Maybe one day I'll try to spit it all out.

In the meantime... What a mess!

I have to respond to my own post, here. I was informed earlier, that that this post sounded as if I was mad, when I mentioned I didn't have time to write all I wanted to say. That is not where I was coming from, or how it was supposed to sound. The whole intention of this post was simply to say that I had tried to respond, but found that there wasn't enough time to say all I wanted to say, because we are at the Expo and our time is very limited.

My comment about the "mess" was to say it is not very nice when the viewers, sponsors, potential sponsors, or vendors of the event are left in the dark. For THAT, I am somewhat agitated. (You'd think that such a large event would want to tell the world in advance about the live stream, so they'd all be ready to watch, when it started up.) But, I sincerely apologize to anyone who might have thought I was mad.

I believe they posted some press releases last Sunday but I have no idea who the release went out to.

I'm sad I have to miss this event this year...I'll be watching on the stream today.

AZ did have a stream there last year, but JoeyA was commentating on the Inside Pool Stream.

Inside Pool was using Dustin McCollum with Spheregon at the time. This year JR is streaming it himself with the help of someone with little to no streaming experience. Hopefully it wont be another Galveston minus JoeyA.

Ray

With the quality of this event, you would think Allen would want someone like Accustats or TAR to cover it. Inside Pool stream was great when Dustin McCollum was involved. Take Dustin out of the picture and Galveston coverage was hard to stomach aside from the awesome commentary by JoeyA and company. I really DO hope this comes off well, just not optimistic.

Ray

i hear ya Ray ! It is already shaping up to be a comedy of errors. it's nice to HAVE the stream anyway but just sayin..........

It seems IP has their prioretys all in a tangle. I have told them i do not want to renew my subscription many times but they still call me about it. I think they should concentrate on getting the publication to the customers they have before they realize that all they are getting is a small magazine full of adds very late !

I'm not knocking them, oh wait yes i am !

I don't seem to understand this. Can you explain what you mean? Many times we don't hear about events that are going to be streamed until the week or weekend of.

Are you saying that if you knew about it sooner you would consider contacting them for sponsorship ads?

And why would the viewers care WHEN we hear something might be streamed? As long as we find the link the day of or week of, hearing about it a month before isn't going to make a difference. Or is it?

I am not trying to be difficult, I am truly trying to understand why you are agitated because I don't see an issue for the viewers finding out about the stream the week of and would like to hear your thoughts. If it's b/c of sponsorship ads, I can understand.

Maybe others have thoughts about this, too.

Hey Trigger! No, I'm trying to say that a lot of folks leave early for this event and dont' know there is a stream, or where to tell the family and friends to watch, until AFTER it happens, when folks don't announce it early enough. We like to announce there will be streams anytime we know one is coming, so our customers, friends, family, etc., can have time to plan ahead. If we didn't have internet access, this year, we'd not have known until we got to go upstairs to watch... which is usually late on Saturday night. We left home last Saturday and normally have no communications with home or internet until we return at the end of the month. A lot of folks up there are having withdrawals and others are glad for the break, but they are without access until they return home. For those who drive over a few days' time, they don't know, when folks post it late. We have customers who would like to watch, from other countries, if they only know about it in time.

As for the sponsorship, we had told Ray and APTSA a good while back that we wanted to sponsor the stream. When I didn't hear anything from Ray about it for a good while, I wrote and asked to make sure he was going to do the stream. He assured me he would be doing it. Nobody let us know about the changes, though. That's the second time we've not been notified of major changes, like that.

Writing in a big hurry with no time to double-check for typos, or errors in meaning, so I hope this says what I'm trying to say.

Oh yeah.. Someone thought my other message was me being mad. It wasn't. I was in a hurry and had little time to think out my response. That's what I was tryign to clear up.

Ray - I just now found this thread. You said you were going to be streaming the Artistic Pool Masters, when I asked you. Does this mean you aren't????

That's correct Renee'.

The Artistic is something that is close to my heart and I certainly could have handled that. JR Calvert had the media agreement for VF and He decided to cover the Artistic too.

What a great bunch of people! I hope they get the coverage they deserve.

Ray

JesPiddlin the details that Ray is conveniently leaving out is where you can find the answers to your questions.

Ray was going to do the stream, he didn't lie to you. He just "forgot" to tell you that he blew his chance to do it. He was not very quick to respond to them and when he did, he provided IP with an invoice for an insane amount of money in order for him to cover the artistic event. LOL they even gave him a 2nd chance to re-invoice them with a more realistic number and apparently his math skills are a lil askew because he re-invoiced them (after another long delay on his part) for a higher amount than the first one. :p

Then Mr. "sour grapes" had his buddies pop into the chat while he was watching and would have them complain and talk badly about the stream in the chat room. The sour grapes went a little further than just talking bad about the stream. Some other "sour grapes" type of thing happened on the stream Sat night but I won't divulge that one just yet.

Jes you seem like a very nice person that is unfortunately a little naive about some people. When part of the true story is conveniently left out, the truth can look very different. I hope this has helped satisfy your curiosity as to why Ray did not do the stream. I'm sure if you had been willing to pay the exorbitant amount of money he was asking, you could have sponsored the stream.

Thank you for the response, Renee'. I think I understand now. :)

This is complete fiction.

More fiction.

Seems you made your 22nd post since 2005 and it's all fiction.

Good job Ref.

I was on much of the stream and saw no negative comments.

I thought JR did a good job.

And conveniently, the Calvert accusation has disappeared, but fortunately, when you subscribe to a thread, you see what was said before the edits.
