One Pocket Lessons (expensive)

I give one pocket lessons.
I know the game as well as anyone.
I've got credentials. (successes)
I've got forty years experience.
I teach well.
I charge a lot. depends on where you are and how long you want lessons for.
bill

LOL@Jerseybill. Let's suppose you are the greatest teacher in the world and your $200 per hour is worth it. You're going about it the wrong way, Bill. Good luck finding customers

What the heck??? I have not seen even ONE post knocking or hating.
.

Are you sure that just a few posts ago that a guy didn't call him "a fist class a--hole".
I guess if that does not fit your criteria of knocking or hating then please explain to me your definition.

The guy sure seems grumpy as heck and abrupt also ... but if he can teach you how to improve your game, just suck it up and learn what he has to show you. If you don't like his sales pitch, just don't call him, but it might be your loss!

He'll probably give some of the lessons in my basement, I would guess. I've known him a long time and he's as smart as they come at 1p. He moves as well as, if not better than, anybody and has the firepower to boot. He should list the people he's been on the road with. I 'll leave that to him if he wants, but it's stellar. As far as teaching, he makes you think and gives you every option and thought process on a shot as well as the right one. He can teach if you can learn and he really wants those he teaches to learn. I had my GC I table tightened to 4 3/8", he stopped by, screwed together and strung 5 racks of 9 ball from the hop.

Hi,
Roll on JerseyBill, I like your style! 63 years equates to a ton of information. What would you charge for advice about women?
I can't wait until I'm an OG and just don't give a damn how I come off.

Oh look. here is the post. I guess this must not count.

That post came well after he had, indeed, acted like an a-hole. The first posts that he was responding to were all intended to help him by suggesting that he present himself better.

There were no "knocks" from other instructors either - just polite suggestions or outright offers of help.

Reading comprehension is quite lacking today apparently.

Mike

Do you think that Terry Francona, Jim Leyland, Ron Gardenhire, Bobby Cox, Charlie Manuel, Tony Larussa, Ken Whisenhunt, Wade Phillips, Jim Caldwell, Brad Childress, Bill Belichick, Tom Coughlin, Sean Payton, Andy Reid, Norv Turner, Mike Brown, Mike Woodson, Stan Van Gundy, George Karl, Phil Jackson, Jeff Bower, Gregg Popovich, Jacque Lemaire, Pat Quinn, Ken Hitchcock, Pat Burns were someone who has been to the top as you wish for a pool instructor?

Please, you didn't really say Mike Brown did you? You may mean a different Mike Brown but the only one I think of when I hear that name is the infamous Mike Brown of the Bengals.

This is meant to be half serious and half tongue-in-cheek; but, on the subject of student testimonials: If the students actually knew what they were talking about, then they wouldn't be the students.

"If you knew what you don't know, then you wouldn't not know it."
-Danny DiLiberto

I say let the numbers do the talking, lest an "Emperor's New Clothes" situation could arise...

If I pay $200 for a lesson and use the information to multiply my investment in spots where I previously couldn't have, then I know I've had my money's worth. The $200 was a total no-brainer.

Best of luck with your lessons, JerseyBill. Knowledge can't be quantified monetarily.

So much negativity must mean somebody doesn't want competition.
I'm known well but mostly in the N.Y. metropolitan area. I'm not a scott Frost, but am at least an A player and on home court maybe A+. I'm sixty three years old so I'll play any sixty three or older _non champion or x champion in the country at one pocket. How's that for credentials?
Bill

used to play at crown?

WHOAH BILL! I guess I offended you. But please, settle down... I never even pretended I could beat anyone. I wanted to get a sense of whether you're someone we should have heard of, and if you've matched up with any of the greats in the past. That's all.

If the answer is "no but I really can teach" or "no but I've won some tournaments" that's cool. But seriously, you wanna answer with "No but I can beat you CreeDo!"

...lol, who gives a shìt if anyone can beat CreeDo?!

Don't be so sensitive.Ten guys here are trying to point out nobody's gonna pay top dollar just because a guy says "trust me I'm good". I'm just one of them.

if its the bill i'm thinking of he can play one pocket

Bill, I am 70 and will play some if we come across each other. I go to the Derby, will be in Phoenix the end of April and Oklahoma (Shooters) in Sept if they have a tournament there. I live on the West Coast in No. Calif. If you ever get out this way and want to play let me know.

I have posted my thoughts on lessons on onepocket.org You may be a great teacher/player. I would try to find out for $200 a game - guarantee 5 games. John

Ok, after reading half of the responses, I will travel up to Phoenix and take more lessons from SJD when I'm ready. SJD comes across a little friendlier.;)

Too bad he is not KentuckyBill. I could maybe take him up on his offer, but jersey is way too far to drive.

Good luck. Hope you get a lot of students. I love one pocket, I just wish anyone around here played it.
