If you want a cue to collect, I don't know a thing about Dieckman cues but perhaps you shall stick with that since they seem to be worth in people's mind for U.S market. Personally, Dieckman cues does not worth a dime to me, because I don't collect. I play.
If you want cues that have proven itself among PLAYERS and PRO PLAYERS, and in European market (where it is normal to have 2000 carom tables and thousands and thousands of 3-c players in a city of 3-4 million)
For a cheaper cue of around $500, I can suggest EURASIA brand (Semih Sayginer played with this up until very recently. Now he is under contract with Longoni, which created his signature cue selling from $1400ish. And their 500ish dollar cue will have ton of fancy inlays and stuff on them!
And if a top pro like Semih Sayginer (I don't know if you heard of him..but...he knows a little about how to play 3-c and artistique

and dozens of best house players play with Eurasia Super Pro series...it means something!
You can also look at Ceulemans brand on the e-bay.
Other two top brands for 3-c, carambolage, one rail (lets call them all as carom) are ADAM and LONGONI.
Adam, Longoni and to some degree Eurasia. These are all brands that have proven itself for the last 40 years of European as well as Asian markets (just like Dieckman proved itself in U.S, where actually not too many people play this

Not just pros play with it. 10s of thousands of carom, especially 3-c players would want to buy and dream of a top of the line Longoni or Adam
I can personally guarantee that these brands I mentioned will play MUCH BETTER than that home operation Dieckman cues, especially for the price lol.
