Which Tip to break with in BCA

well if they're goal is to prevent ball damage, the samsara will definitely NOT damage the balls. it is hard, but not as hard as phenolic. in my experience, phenolic tips CAN damage the balls, though it varies from tip to tip. I think there must be some variance in the material, some phenolic tips don't damage the balls, some do. Most of the damage appears as half moon cracks in the surface of the ball. I do agree that something has to be done about these super hard tips, normal tip to ball and ball to ball contact should not be cracking the ball material. I think teh samsara is a very good compromise and would hate to see it banned as it performs as advertised and does NOT damage the ball.

No grey area at all the Samsara tip is 100% leather.

Like I said before I use it to play pool. Not because I think it is the best for pool. Jim asked me to try, and break it. Well guess what...lol

I masse with it, break with it, and play with it, and it has kept it's shape...no cracks, no mushrooming, no delaminating. The fact that I can use it to jump over full balls with my playing cue is nice. I dont have to change cues to play some jump shots. I am trying to learn more basic patterns, and the tip is real nice for that.

I am sure that Samsara makes a better tip for playing than this one. I am trying to learn something right now, and this is the perfect tool for the job. When I am done learning what I am learning right now. I will be switching to a softer tip to play with. The J/B is Samsara right now.

Again I am not getting paid to say this. Maybe I should call Jim...lol

Tatcat2000,
Thanks so much for your swift action to clear this issue up. Is the Samsara Hard tip and the Samsara Jump/Break tip one in the same?

Not sure on that - I'm not a tip techie. I used the term because it seems to me I had seen it referenced more often and that's what I asked about. Horrible of me to be so non-specific . However, I will check on Samsara's in general and the specific types, and post here only if any are illegal. Unless you hear otherwise from me here (or something official from Henderson) you may safely forge ahead with Samsaras.
