Please note the April 3, 2010 tournament date (changed from some of the earlier flyers due to a scheduling conflict).

Per popular request: It's a large thing to some, small to others, but management said they will have new cue balls in play for the event.

A bump to the top to be sure everyone is aware of the correct date: April 3, 2010. Thanks.

The recent 9-ball tournament reached the full 64 player field limit by early tournament morning.

Director Larry Nicholson asked that those interested in playing in this Saturday's (April 3rd) Maryland State 10-ball Championship please mail in the $40 entry fee soon. The address is:

Have they improved any of the equipment at all since the md 9 ball tourney?

The Economy

Have they improved any of the equipment at all since the md 9 ball tourney?

All-Stars is one of the best rooms in Maryland...period! I am sure they would like to have pristine tables and equipment! They are doing the very best they can given the state of the economy and lack of new players (AKA Teenagers). I for one am pleased that All-Stars and Big Daddy's are hosting the Maryland Championships for 8 Ball, 9 Ball, 10 Ball, One Pocket and Straight Pool...as well as Champion Billiards, also in Frederick, for hosting two JPNEWT Women's Tour Stops one of which is the Maryland Women's State 9 Ball Championship. Hats off to Larry Nicholson (All-Star Billiards), Rick Molineiro (Big Daddy's) and Gary Allen ( Champion Billiards) for their respective support of Maryland Pool!!!!!!!

As noted above, Larry, Peggy, Tiny, and everyone else there are what make All-Star Billiards such a great room. They and Rick Molineiro of Big Daddy's willingly stepped up to the plate to get the Maryland Championship series off the ground this year. In addition, Danny Bell graciously allowed the Maryland State Bar Table Championships to be included. Many thanks to all.

The tables at All-Star were recently recovered with Simonis 860 HR, but they see a fair amount of play with leagues during the week, an every Saturday 8-Ball tournament, and other events as well. Management said they will be replacing the current cue balls. I’ll apologize in advance if this does not occur by Saturday and will donate new ones in the future if necessary. However, to get an idea of how the tables and balls are currently playing, please watch Shaun Wilkie’s break and run from the recent 9-Ball event at All-Star (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDeP7IOAIqc).

Everyone please come out and play this Saturday if your schedule permits. If not, come by to watch some great 10-Ball and support your favorite players. Best of luck to all.

who ended up winning? i know when i left it was down to shuff, wilkie and manny with manny in the hotseat.

A Wrldpro should be able to adjust to any equipment I would think.

You are exactly right as a worldpro should be able to adjust to any equipment but why should a worldpro have to play on such shitty equipment.Equipment like that is meant for ultimate nits like you.I would be willing to lower myself to play you on that shitty equipment any game if you had any money.Once again the railbird nit speaks out toward me and has no clue about pool at all.My advise would be to grow up and get a life and practice very hard so you can actually shoot yourself out of your hometown.

Joey for real grow up and match up instead of making comments directed at me and you dont even know me or at least i certainly never heard of you.Any further comments please send to me through a pm or feel free to just call me anytime.

Your Friend,

Bobby C.

A real world pro shouldn't be bothering with a state tournament anyway.

Since there isn't much in the way of world pool, maybe you should be grateful for what tournaments are available and the pool rooms that dare to risk the expense of sponsoring an event without guarantee of return, especially in this economy. Besides, with your over the top dramatics and slow play, I'm sure everyone was glad that you weren't there.

FWIW, I've known of Joey for years but only learned of you in the last couple of weeks.

By the way I am a big supporter of pool.I played in a tourney recently in that poolroom and almost everybody was unhappy with the equipment, however everybody was happy with the way it was ran.i dont think you were there or you wouldnt have commented on this.Have you ever seen me play?Who are you or are you gonna hide behind your user name. Also that last tourney the poolroom didnt add to the prize fund and the tourney was full so they had a great return and also promised to everyone they would fix the equipment and I just found out they recovered the tables and they are buying new cue balls or sets soon and that will help for sure.I dont know what dramatics I did that you saw however my play and donation to the event was praised by many and only critizized by 2 people and The other person and myself are cool now so whats your name.send me a pm and we can talk and answer each others questions or comments or even feel free to call me.It doesnt bother me that you didnt know me and know Joey as joey is one of the best players in the country at least joey is for sure in the top 10 players and would rob me playing any game but I am a sucker and I will take my chances.

Who are you or are you gonna hide behind your user name.

I'm a retired Joe nobody that has never claimed to be a pro, local, state, world, or otherwise.

Please let me know if you want to play and send it through on a private message and we can work out the details. If you are to scared then just pick someone out from your state and we can match up then.

Whenever someone doesn't agree with you online, is it always your M.O. to woof at them? When was the last time you gambled? Who did you gamble against?

I'm not claiming to be a world pro and I don't use want to play some as a retort to someone that doesn't agree with me.

Why didn't you play in the pro event in Valley Forge? What credentials do you have that make you a world pro?
