Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Not one response to my one pocket post. If no one wants to do it I sure would love to spend my Saturday somewhere else. I'm down to play.
 
My brother said he would play one pocket Saturday too.

Jon, Jimmy, and Theo all sounded like they wanted to play when we talked yesterday.
 
That's a little interest being generated. Good thing.

Umm, as far as the Open Level 2 division goes it has far and away the most people in it. It's like if you did bad in Level 1 they let you play there. If everyone who does bad in Level 1 gets to play Level 2, how strong is that division over time. That might just be the hardest place to cash in the whole tournament.

I think we hit a 100k views already and only a matter of time before we get to 5k posts. At that point this will be remembered as the greatest thread of all time.

This will be the third year for the Juniors event. There are age limits and two divisions. 11-15 and 16-18. The sign up will be on-site thoughout the week and begin about 11 on Sunday morning. I usually run this (cause my team is usually not playing anymore:() and it is a fun event. Hope to see you there.

The Level 2 Open is supposed to be an entry level for the real beginners in Iowa. It was created to allow any player to have a fighting chance to win a few games and get introduce to the tournament adventure. If we can keep it that way, it will be a good Division...but there again, you find the people that just need to beat everyone they play and if that means playing in a Division filled with beginners, then that's where they'll play. (that word come to mind again...INTEGRITY)

I don't think the numbers are out of line. The IOMA tournament had similar numbers between the Open and Intermediate...and they have the same problems. We're trying to do the right (fair) thing but some players take advantage of us...always will.

I'd love to come play your 1P on Saturday...but alas, I have a couple of other things going on. Good luck with you rtournament and I hope you get your 16 players...that would be a good tournament.

Are you referring to the ISPA site? If so, I just checked and it seems to be working for me. All of the events and players are listed on the front page...just 'click' on the event you need and a spread sheet comes up. Scroll til you find what you're looking for. Most Open 9-ball start at noon and the Masters 9-ball start at 6...both on Wednesday.

Why is it that on April fools day I fall for small variations of the same jokes every year. It's 10 AM and my woman has pretended to dump me and my boss has already pretended to fire me. My boss got me when I came in and my woman is a slickster. Without a doubt I will not be fooled again today, so please don't get in a car crash or need any assistance from me today, I simply will dismiss it as a prank.

I looked to my left and then to my right and for some reason I couldn't spot the sucker...
 
Weather is nasty out and Clash of the Titans comes out today. I won't be at the Ten Ball Tournament or the One Pocket Tournament. Spread the word, pump it up and someone take the point and run the hell out of this tournament. Stephanie is going out of town on the 8th-12th so I'm going to spend the weekend with her since she won't be at State with me. I'm not hitting a ball this weekend.

Carry on and post the results, I think Jody is going to play.
 
I'll run the one pocket tournament if Jody doesn't.

First 16 paid get in should work out for a double elim tournament. Any more and we'd need more than 4 tables or a redraw tournament format again.
 
Are you kidding me, Jody won't play in such a small tourney...he will only play in tournaments like Olathe or the US Open.

LOL is about all I can say. The Clash of the Titans was only okay. It's early and I am awake. Ohhh baby!
