Waiting for Meucci to reply...

I recently acquired a Meucci 97-32 Crown Jewel cue locally and had a question that I sent in to Meucci for elaboration. I don't know how long it will take, or if they will even reply, but I know there are lots of knowledgeable & helpful people here on AZB, so here is my question to you;
While playing the other night in my local APA league bar, another player noticed it and said that it had real platinum & gold in some of the inlay work (the sword specifically, see picture attached). I know it is a production cue, Meucci's most expensive retail production cue in thier line at that, and I'm not sure how many were actually produced, but it is a magnificent design and a beautiful cue in my opinion.
I know there were some of the originals (pre-production)that had lots of Ivory in them and the one that was made for Jim Rempe had actual gemstones inlayed in it.
My question is this; Is there any truth to what the other player said about the precious metals, are there any exotic materials actually used in the Butt/Sleeve of this model, or is all of the delicate inlay work where the bulk of the production cost come from in this particular cue? Also does anyone know how many were actually produced?
Thank you.

Thank you for the PM, Bryan.
If Meucci or someone else that has the inside scoop tells me something different, I will let you know.

Here's a link from Budget Cues - it gives the complete description. My understanding has always been the swords were real silver, but all else is synthetic material or dyed wood.

Now that I'm thinking about it - maybe it was the "Dragon Slayer " cue that had real silver. Be interested in hearing what they have to say.

Meucci responded, requesting detailed pictures of my cue.
I sent them out this morning, so maybe by the end of next week I'll know more...

I spoke with one of the cuemakers at Meucci today, they confirmed that other than a handfull of very early prototypes (maybe 20 or so), there were no precious metals used in any of thier Crown Jewel cues. The early prototypes had real Ivory in them.

Thanks for letting us know. The confusion probably comes from these early cues, which have been on a couple of web sites and originally got a lot of attention.
