I have been playing around on Google Earth for many years but I recently started using it to find pool halls or anything else for that matter. I just type in a city's name like Kansas city and the key words "pool hall" and hang on. Next thing you know you are hovering over KC and there they are below you. You can even click on the symbols provided and a picture reviews and website links are shown. I know you can do the same thing on most good search engines but for me Google Earth rocks.

google earth is amazing, I figure the Govt has had a version of it for many years. I would guess the version they have now is so perfect you could see a fly land on a roof top.

I love it, its fun to look things up, I forund the abonded air strip near where we hunt elephants out in the middle of nowhere, I was suprised by that because I didnt figure that the resoultuion would be that clear in the middle of nowhere Zimbabwe, I found the hunting camps we used everything.

Some areas of Nv like Area 51 are blurred out for security reasons and other stragitic areas. It is totally amazing.

I'm 43 so I remeber the first video games and watched the evolutiuon of technonogys over ther years, I wonder what it would be like to be 5 years old right now? with what I see as a huge improvment they see as what??? that would be interesting. I wonder if I could have learned to spell if all this internet, video, etc was avaliabel when I was growing up. I see kids now that are 5 or 6 and compaired to them I was stupid, stone cold stupid when I was their age, people as a whole are smarter these days than ever.

Somehow I think I liked it before Celphones, or going back a few years even beepers. I remember driving when you has am/fm and you couldnt communicate with anyone, what did we do back then-just sit and wait to go where ever it was the destination??? I guess we did.

You wanna get a kick, try going to maps.google.com and typing pool halls usa. It shows red dots where there are pool halls (obviously not all of them. Zoom in to see more dots).

This gives you a good idea of where there are high concentrations of pool halls. Looks like NE south of maine and the west coast near the beach have a ton.

I was disappointed that the philippines wasn't covered in red dots, but certain cities are.

That reminds me I need to call you one of these days. I know what you mean even my tomatoes are smarter then me:embarrassed2:. That reminds me they got planted last Saturday....now if I can keep them from freezing tomorrow and Friday we could be in for some amazing heirlooms by the end of July. You guessed it.... Snow:mad:

Where is the info coming from? When I do a search for pool rooms, I always get half that have been shut down for a year or more. Been burned that way before, drive 30 mins to a place to find the parking lot empty.

changes (was google earth)

wanna try something interesting? try explaining to children under 20 that when you were younger and you called someone, if they werent there, the phone just rang and rang. no answering machine, no vm, no nuttin, it just rang...

my kids cant fathom that...

they cant believe that we only had four channels of tv either, and if the president was on, the night was shot... and dont even try to tell them that pong was a video game or that there was no internet...

kids...
