I'm not sure if i spelled his name right but he is the Colorado cue maker.
Today a guy i play pool with brought his Erie cue and he let me play with it for awhile.It felt like i had been playing with this cue for years, I needed no adjustment at all. Then i realized that the hit and the balance were the same as my Lucasi. Now I'm not trying to say that theses two cues are equal in any way except they felt very similar. The Ernie cue had a steel wood to wood joint and the Lucasi has a uni lock wood to wood joint with a wood Cocobolo collar. The Ernie cue has a black Kamui (spelling?)tip and the Lucasi has a rather worn triangle. The Erie cue is birds eye maple and the Lucasi is Cocobolo.
So these two cues do not have a lot in common other then they play almost identical. I've been playing for 50 years and can tell the slightest difference between cues. In fact when i switched from a Cue Tec to the Lucasi it took a couple of weeks to get used to it.
 
Interesting, I have seen several of his cues and have held one or two. I don't remember ever shooting with one though. I met Ernie back in the day at Showcase.

I collect Ernie Martinez cues.
They really are phenominal playing cues, especially the older ones.
Ernies taper, balance, and overall workmanship is super.

You are correct, they're very easy to get used to.
You don't see too many for sale.

My friend does have another one he wants to sell.
