You have got to be kidding me/ Terry Strader rebuilt his business in Alton after the tragic fire he had last year and now he is having 2 tournaments a month $500 added guaranteed. Only 20 players showed up last Sunday for the 8 ball and 1st place was still $450 for a $20 entry fee, of which your green fees are covered.

I live in Fenton and it will take me an HOUR just to drive over to the NEW Riverbend on Sunday May the 9th, which is one week and one day after the Kentucky Derby. IMO there is NO competition to this event, $20 entry period, auction for those interested. Jimmy Eberhardt running the event who knows most players skill level, while others can be determined by APA and Mo 8 and Mo 9 ball existing handicaps.

I have CLEARED my calendar for MOTHERS DAY and plan to make the drive to be part of this event. Sure am not driving to Tampa Bay to see mom.

2nd Sunday of every month $500 added guaranteed, check the website, the food is GOOD and inexpensive. Lets support Terry Strader at the Riverbend II. easy to find just mapquest it, Clark bridge and hand a Right turn I believe.

I was going to take Jimmy to Jackson Mississippi but I can save 1000 miles and go to the new Riverbend.

No question..... Check out the website. Inexpensive food, drink specials and CHEAP table times for pool players. Hell I might even move from Fenton to Alton if Terry gives me a job.

I wish I didn't have to work! This sounds like a great tourney! I hope all Stl players will try and make it out if they can. There is no reason there shouldn't be 30-50 players every month at an event like this.

Sure hope your making double time !!!!

$450 for 1st with 20 players and a $20 entry covers all, you cannot beat this event.

With as many tables as they have this event runs pretty smoothly.

I'll have to make it out there. Always liked Riverbend and I hear the new place is very nice.

Lars - you stick to working. Don't let Mark attempt to corrupt you.

Thanks for looking out for me Watches. Never gave it a second thought though. Ill stick with the guaranteed money every time. I will for sure be at Riverbend on my Sundays off though. :D. It would be great if we could get all those Missouri folks over to the Ill side. C'mon Watches I know you have some pull over there!

Sure word of mouth will work

Steve Boucher winning the 8 ball last Sunday will spread by word of mouth about the 9 ball event at while he plays MO 8 ball and I am sure some of those guys there will make the journey across the bridge.

Kind of wish I had a job to go to. Maybe next year.

I'll definitely be trying to show up for some of these...
This is actually the first time I'd even heard about the tournament. :p

John Bissell with you??? Ha Ha:D:D:D:D

u r a 9

lol...He doesn't usually get out much on Sundays, but I'll see if I can talk him into it! :D

9...good grief...I haven't even played in it yet...shouldn't I start as like a 4 or 5 or something? :p

Jon, I think Mark was talking about Jean's pic as "Jon Bissell"....Im going to step out on a limb though and guess that its actually Ralf Souquet. Either way if its Jon or Ralf 9 is the appropriate handicap ;)

Its Ralf

Eberhardt sets the handicaps, but I doubt you and I will be playing even as a 4 or 5. So, Jimmy is a 13, how would you gamble with him. Loser Break?

Hell, its is only 20 bucks.

Now Dustin wants to go to Jackson Mississippi and it is the same weekend as this event. Plus 1000 mile round trip.:cool::cool:

Ah....ok...now that makes much more sense! lol
Guess I should have paid attention to who he had replied too...so thanks for the clarification Lars...::embarrassed2:
Are you going to go out there next week?

I honestly don't know...he's been playing great lately, so I definitely need something...probably a lot! lol

Now let's see...1000 mile trip to back someone playing world beaters, or 20 dollar entry fee in your own backyard with good odds...hmm...isn't this a no brainer? Especially if you're the one footing the bill...:D lol

Not sure exactly how Jimmy's HCPing most players there, I haven't had the time to get to one of these events.

My guess would be Lars 11, Williams a 9/10, Bissell 8, Starkweather 7, M. Patrick 5, myself 8... all based on Jimmy 13!

I'm in there once a week for lunch during the week, but can't find time on weekends- too busy running my own tournaments... one of these days maybe!

Jimmy has the APA handicap system plus knowledge

A 5? you give me more credit, I am thinking 3 or 4 on a GOOD day. Being over handicapped is why I usually just stake guys. If I am going to donate I should have a chance at winning some money.

Your tournaments are on Saturday 90 percent of the time. Starkweather a 7? I am buying him in the auction.

Jon, your right. 1000 miles or play here? It is up to Dustin. Pay outs and auction will be much larger and the competition will be more intense but Dustin does not mind it.:D

I think you are pretty much right on Mike! I think Jon is more like 10/11 though. Jean 7/8. Just IMO

What does Boucher play as? Im assuming 13 also?

I would think Jimmy, Dunham, Boucher all play 13!

Since you like me as a 5 how about staking me?

I would think Jimmy, Dunham, Boucher all play 13!

I will play any of those guys a $1000 set of 9 ball 13-5 and you can stake me. I will play to win, since if I do I get half. What do you think??

Not just talking about one of them, all of them.

Come on I know you have the Coin.:D:D:D and you set the handicap.

I will stake myself at 13-3.
