Feeling the terrain of the cue....

This question is similar to a question posted about points and finish, but should you be able to feel the "terrain" of your cue? I have a cue I haven't taken out in about a year and I noticed today that I could feel the rings through the finish. Is that okay? I've never noticed it before and none of my other cues are like this.

Thanks for the help,
Jeremy

happens all the time to metal trim rings I wouldn't worry about it.

its natural when the ringworks of your cues was made by metal, if its really giving you a stress, refinish is the best solutions to your problem. thats why i am a big fan of a wood rings...

Good luck..

Thanks.

Thanks for the help, gentlemen.

If I may ask, what makes this happen with metal rings and not wood/phenolic? Metal expansion/contraction?

Thanks,
Jeremy
