Lee Van's Tats

Saw Lee Van in the headline today and just realized he's sporting some 'new?' visible tats.

He's the first pro player I've seen with a visible tattoo on his arm.
Anyone else I missed?

Anyway, I like 'em and would get one in a heartbeat only if my wife would let me! :D

Be glad your wife wears the pants in the family. You don't want any ink. I have tats and I'd go back and never step foot in a tattoo parlor if given the chance. And my tats aren't sloppy, I was very careful to take the time and research a lot of different places and a lot of different artists and have mine done by someone that I thought did good work. The work on mine is really good, I just wish that I hadn't done it. I'm tired of looking at them.

I considered getting an anchor tatoo when I was in the Navy, but I really didn't like the Navy that much so it didn't make sense to walk around with an anchor on my arm for the rest of my life.
 
i wouldnt trade my tats for anything i love all of them and paln on getting many more but thats just me...
 
When I was a kid, looking at wanted posters in the post office, I noticed that ALL tats were listed. Right then, I decided I wouldn't ever want the cops to easily identify me should I decide upon a criminal career...

No ink for me. But I do believe in a person's right to be different, like everybody else.

I had wondered the last couple of years that I lived in Japan where tats among even the Japanese youth were gaining popularity. Remember the old rules where 'onsen' and 'sento' wouldn't allow those with tats inside because at the time it was usually considered to have something to do with the local 'yaks'?
What about the westernized tats like some of the younger kids are sporting. You know what I mean, anything that doesn't look right wingish or 'yaki' do these kind of tats meet with the same kind of rejection in such places? Have you ever had a hard time getting into any place with your tats?

i have 8 tats and i can conceal them...so as far a trouble in certain places i dress and carry myself much differently at my job in a business meeting than i do on a saturday night with my buddys riding our harleys hanging out at the 'clubhouse"...i also dress much differently and display ,my ink proudly...
 
love my tats. especially the ones on my chest. ask half the waitresses around here. after to many shots of SoCo im quick to rip of my shirt. lol. The wife hates it, but why get em if i cant show em off? ;) Now that im done setting up my poolroom/mancave im gonna get my back done


The funny thing is; most people didnt even know I was covered in tats till I started taking my shirt off in the poolhall. None are visible when im clothed.
 
No ink here, but to each his own. Live and let live. They just don't do anything for me....as a matter of fact... when I see a good looking babe with them, it just ruins it for me.:(

Went to Houston in late 60's looking for women, beer, pool action, and a tattoo. Had one of the best times of my life and won some TX money (not too easy), and the other 2 categories.

I did not get a tat- wanted to in the worst way and this was when only sailors were really showing them off. I do not regret it - would not want one for me or for my family.

OTHO, cannot stan the politics of the Red States. What are they so scared of? W was the man that spent the USA into huge debt!:o
 
I'm just trying not to imagine in my mind what all the Ladies covered in tats nowdays will look like when there in there 60's and 70's and wrinkled. --Leonard
 
In a recent thread on something completely unrelated to the subject of this thread, I wrote the following:

Young people really have no idea how they will feel about something decades later.​

It occurs to me that this statement applies in the case of tattoos as well.

Amen! And I was almost 30 when I finally took the plunge. Now I'm 42 and wish I hadn't ever done it.

Since I'm a foreigner it's almost expected of me to have a tattoo. Still strict with Japanese though.

I noticed those too.

I don't mind anyone's choice to get one (there are some awful ones out there)... but I personally think it's foolish to get something that will screw up your chances of getting a job later. I know there are plenty of jobs where visible tats on the arm or neck are okay. But there are even more where you're not gonna get hired, and even lee van can't count on pool to pay the bills forever.
 
I think maybe getting dots tattooed on my thumb joint and index finger to align with some dots i can place on my cue shaft might help my aiming.
 
i love my ink, I have LOTS of it too, I never regretted it for a second. i'm going to keep getting ink until im pretty much covered-it will take years, i'm not in a hurry. All except my left arm and hand it would distract me when i play pool. i've never been pierced and will never do that,
