I always felt something was wrong/different w/Aramith balls, but now I know why...
I was watching a 1-pocket dvd and the commentator was talking about that the rules state that you should place the numbers on top when spotting balls. This keeps everyone from using the lines of the stripes or the numbers themselves as aiming aids. This makes sense for Centennials, but not for Aramith.
Centennials have the numbers in the middle of the white area of the stripe balls - thus, if you place the number up, only the solid horizantal stripe is seen when shooting a spot shot.
Aramith balls have the numbers in the middle of the stripes - thus, if you spot the balls numbers up you would be able to use the edge of the stripes as aiming aids because the stripes would be vertical instead of horizontal w/the centennials. If you place the stripe horizontal, you would have a part of the number to use for aiming.
Anyone else notice this? Anyone know the reason for this?
Thanks for the vent time.
Dave
