As I had said earlier I would let Billy Schick check this out as he is a Hall Of Fame cue maker, and His thoughts could have some meaning as he is honest and to the point on things.
What he said is this is the same suff he used in the 70's and was good ferrule material. He also said he does not use it because his customers in the late 70's did not like the way it changed color with age. After sanding it and smelling it he said there was no way to hide the smell and that is it.
So for anyone wanting to know what a HOF cuemaker said, that is it. He also said I could use his name to let anyone know that really wanted to know.
So bottom line if anyone wants any I still have some I will cut and the price is the same 25.00 each.

I purchased a few pieces of the micarta from Percy yesterday.
Great guy to deal with.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks

Hopefully Bill can keep making cues after poisoning himself to find out about the ferrule material!:)

This material does not have the asbestos in it. It is as I said all along
Old Yellow Paper Based Micarta. Knifemakers have been using it for 40 years and it is a great material that holds up well and ages well.

As I have stated in the other thread, this material, asbestos or not, is a superior material providing an incredibly unique hit that is rare and very desirable.

Still would like for everyone that bought or thought about buying, to read the word on this stuff.
Thanks

That might not be a good idea. They wanted to vote me to be over the Dixie League, which is little league baseball for 9-13 year olds.
After I told them the first thing I would do is ban all parents then they changed their mind. I am strong willed and don't see gray all issues are black and white right or wrong and most people especially politicians don't like that. The kids just wanted to play ball, the parents wanted all thing to be an issue, over something the kids did not care about in most cases.
Thanks for the idea though.
You have a great week

You just got my vote.

Paul I know the shaft on my paradise cue has a ferrule made out of this same stuff and it plays great, but again that is all subjective to the player.
Maybe it plays great cause I used to think I played great, until someone told me the truth.

Could you post up a pic of it, I'd like to see it on a finished shaft.

Craig I will take a picture today and get it on here for you to see.
Thanks for asking good idea.

After checking to get the cue out to take a picture of the ferrule I realized it was the old Frank Paradise cue that my son is having Billy Schick is redoing for my birthday, so I won't have a picture of the ferrule until that is back.
Sorry.
