I just finished reading this book. Since I've never seen either Mosconi or Fats play nor watched any of their televised matches, the study of these polar opposites was a great read. It gave me a better sense of some history of the great players and the great 'playas'.
Jay gets a couple of prominent shout outs in the book. That was cool to read. Was it a 'road trip' thru or to Oklahoma when you stopped to visit with Fats? The dog feeding story cracked me up. Did you ever see him in action?
It sounds like Fats' act was something to behold. Sorry I missed it.
I will look for other book(s) by R A Dyer-he references another-'Hustlers" or 'Hustlin', I think. Maybe about Johnston City days.
There's a lot of history of our game-good and not so much-that I want to catch up on.
Anybody have any first hand stories of Fats or Mosconi that could be shared?
Thanks
