I did say that my team qualified in the summer not knowing that we would only be in a bracket with the summer leagues. Had my team qualified again last session, I would have been ok with playing in that bracket. My team probably wouldn't have had the same sweep with a bigger bracket simply by default. But then again, my team did finish 2nd by 1 point is this last session, so who knows how we would honestly do. I know I don't have the fear of anyone on my team moving up or down so I can play my players with confidence. I think that's the biggest advantage my team has above most others.
Everyone knows that in APA the whole purpose of playing is the free trip to Vegas. There's no hidden cost, no hidden steps to get there. Play your session, win it or win by classics... then play in the big tourney and win that. You can even lose a little and still win. Plus there many more ways people can go to Vegas instead of just Carol's team like it was in the past. Players now have the chance to go by Singles, jack and Jill scotch, any scotch, masters, someday a ladies division for just women's singles and team, and finally general team. How can anyone think that sucks?
As far as prize pool money - The money pool is all the same, fair and across the board for anyone who qualified. Unlike some other leagues, where you have NO idea what the payout will be, to just find out either you are getting completely screwed out of your money and trip expenses that were said to be paid for (TAP) or just flat out stolen from with a 48% payback to the players. (VALLEY) Since my team qualified in the summer, it's a rule by Nationals, not just Randy Jones, that a qualified team must stay active and above the 50% mark to remain in good standings. We help compensate for the team that played only one session, or maybe two, that won their spot in masters. Is it "fair" that my team paid extra for the team that possibly qualified in only one session? Some could say No, but grownups would say, I knew the rules when I started. Is it fair that a person who only played the min of matches (4) compared to someone that had to play 10 shoots to qualify? Again it's the rules and you can read them before you sign up. If someone doesn't like that they played less or more than another player and the money is the same... take it up with your captain, not the APA operator.
Mike, if you simply don't like the standings then don't play. - Im not sure why you care even care since your team didn't make it to masters and now your masters team isn’t' as strong since Wes isn't going. You like stirring the pot when things are quiet but I think you are out of line bad talking someone you barely know and a league you are brand new to. JMO
