Aiming Systems Of All Kinds..Just don't Work

Ok..guys..i am a veteran of this game for over 50 years..i now have all
this video crap at my disposal..i recently came back to play and i have
to tell you..for the up and coming players..this internet shit sucks..i have
tried to apply it all and it does work to some degree..as long as its you
last shot..sure as hell can't use english..which we know it takes windage
to get on your next shot..finally after my last 2 months of comeback..i
let the unconcious do its thing..you have it..or you don"t..i just happen to
have it..always had it..i thought wow..so great knowledge i didn't know about..
i reccomend new players to stay away from all the info out here about
aiming systems..they don't work..the basics..yea..now that i forgot all the
shit i looked at out here..my game is comming back..ran my first 5 in a row
7 ball runout today..and always hit 3 on the day..now that i play like i know
what is right..i expect my first 10..7 ball run outs..i have always been a
7 ball player..none of the stuff on this internet is helpfull..only harms ones
game..if i can run my old time record of 7 ball runouts i will be there..just dont miss..
...wow..whats your thougts of all the info that cunfusses young players..i
spent $1 a point to learn 3 cushings back in the day..but it was all worth it..
and the knowledge of other great players to just keep it simple..take lesson
from a seasoned pro..hit your local hall for their pro..and stay the hell off
of this internet...response is appreiceated..

It is a resource for certain shot, like a tool in a carpenter tool belt. No one tool soes everything well. For me I use CTE as a problem solver!

great... now we're having an abundance of threads saying that aiming systems do not work along with the abundance of aiming system threads :rolleyes:

Evidently you didn't read my post, or if you did you didn't understand it, but that's beside the point. If you think, for one moment, that I'm going to believe something just because you've said it, then you've got another think coming. As far as Las Vegas goes, I'd rather go to Branson.
 
It's like a religion. You either truly believe systems work or you don't. Most players don't believe in them at all, some laugh at them openly, while some of the others have had sort of epiphany.

that has happened only in the last two days of forgeting about the aim
stuff..i really tried to apply it..i ran a whole lot more racks than that in the
past..just my way of practice..bet not even 1-2 shots a rack you actually
used any method other than your minds line..cause if you used any thing
but center ball..you would have missed..MHO..

Don't know about the aiming systems but damn that is a ton of racks. You probably did that on a big table too. Since I have been in Iowa I have seen two people string together a lot of racks on a bar box. One person ran 9 racks of 9-Ball with the magic rack playing races to 11 for $200/set which was the most clutch run I've seen in a while. Another was a guy from Waterloo that ran 9 consecutive racks of 8-Ball on a bar table. Neither of these guys have aiming systems.

I've seen Keith Bennett go on some long runs and I don't believe he has a formal aiming system. I think it's just what makes a player more comfortable and confident at the end of the day.

Not to correct you Neil as I honestly do not know formally whether this is true or not but....

Some of the respected instructors on this site consider center ball to also be english so everyone uses english on 100% of their shots according to some people. I personally only consider side spin to be english, if it don't involve any side on the cue ball I don't call it english. All semantics really, I think I deciphered what you were talking about. It sure is nice when you are in line and can hit center ball for a few shots I'll tell you that.

I would have to agree with Neil here. Unless center ball is also considered english you can probably shoot and make about 50-75% of the shots with center ball and just adjust on your speed. As for aiming systems, I haven't tried Perfect Aim, CTE, SAM, or any others I may be missing. I would prefer to get the fundamentals down pat and then examine one or multiple of the above. An aiming system will probably fail if your fundamentals are bad. It sounds like from other peoples posts that certain systems work for certain individuals. Just because the aiming systems don't seem to work for you doesn't mean the stuff on here is all bad. You have to weed the good and bad info on here and for young players that can be difficult. Never believe EVERYTHING you read :).

I'm with you Neil on both of your posts.. English, to me, is side sping.. High or low would be follow or draw or whatever one cares to call it..

Also if someone is using side on 80% of their shots..hmmmmm.. Good luck to them with that..
