The only two semi-player rooms are:
Buffalo Billiards on Airline Drive in Metairie, LA
Banger's Paradise also known as Corner Pocket in Kenner, LA
both of these pool rooms are between New Orleans and the New Orleans Airport.
There is a VERY nice Banger's Room called BUCA'S in Metairie in "Fat City".
Nothing for you in New Orleans unfortunately.
Wear a "SHOO! I'm practicing." shirt when practicing at either pool room. lol. Either that or I can stand guard and glare at all of the wannabee suitors.

Is there any room in the area with either carom or snooker tables?
I think there is a carom table in the Vietnamese community in New Orleans East but that is all I am aware of. No snooker tables either unless they are privately owned.
What is going on? Is there some kind of delegation from AZB coming down to work with Obama on removing the oil from our coastal areas?
I guess I am a banger (no, of course I am), but when I am not playing at home I sometimes go to the Corner Pocket, mostly because I live nearby.
As an alternative, the Fox and Hound in the Elmwood shopping Center on Clearview Blvd (in Harahan, south of the Metairie suburb) has nine 9ft Diamond tables. Most have decent cloth, a few are worn. More of a restaurant than a pool room, I like it there because I can take my kids with me.
Pool there is FREE on weekdays between 11am and 2pm, but expensive ($10/hr) at other times. Lots of parking. Safe area.
If you want a quiet place to practice with music, sports TV and good food, go to the F&H ... but at lunch time.

That could scare the hell out of some suitors.
Have you seen how pretty her baby is? That baby might draw a big crowd just sleeping.
