after 3 weeks in a slump i finally got a run of 57. Made a stupid mistake on the last key ball and then I did not draw back enough into the rack on the breakshot. Had a difficult but makeable combo rail first on the 8 to make the 9 but did not hit it hard enough...oh well, more to come...for now i am happy that i am feeling better, get some rolls and most of all back in stroke and confidence is coming back also...

Awesome....very happy to hear it !!!

I think the more we think about our slumps and how we are gonna snap out of them, the more we stay in them.... I think we all need to cut ourselves a little slack and just let it happen !!

easier said then done when you know that you can run 100+ and you are stuck in 20´s and 30´s for 3 weeks ! Of course we have to let it come or sometimes take a little break.

there you go : http://www.vimeo.com/13183625

straight pool is like no other in this regard. one day, you can run balls, the next you are pulling out your hair. when my 14.1 game is bad, so is life. lol...

i ran 45 balls in practice about 10 years ago. and since then i dont think i've ran more than 33 in a match. talk about pulling your hair out. how come there's no emoticon for "pulling your hair out because you love/hate straight pool"?!

Nice run!you make it look so effortless.I(on the other hand)look like I'm at the hospital with my wife when she was in labor.:(

Sascha,

one thing i noticed in the last rack is that you should of played for the 2 balls that are frozen in the rack area. and used the ball on the rail as a pivot ball between those 2 balls.

once those three balls are out of the picture, the triangle is there !

last 3 balls are 4 Breakshot, 3 Keyball in the side, 13(i Think) down below is the Keyball to the Keyball played in the bottom right pocket.

hope this makes sense !

is somebody holding the camera ? is there any way you can get it higher with a tripod or something ?

i ussually sit my cam on a tripod on the snack tables that are near all the tables for the railbirds !

congrats. I feel your pain. I've been slumping for the better part of the year. Haven't played consistently well since March. I had an upturn, but now I'm back down. :(

what you mean ? I shot the 13,11,12 and the triangle was there, too withe the 3,6 and 4 as breakball. see the rail under the picture on the wall ? thats where i put the camera. no way to get it higher but i think its position is fine.

Does the side of the room that you have the camera on now have the same seating areas. Can you set up a tripod on one of those tables?
That would be something like the way I setup for recording.
I think it is a better angle shooting down so you can see the paths of the balls better.

Sascha,

What i am saying is that if you play the 3 as the keyball into the side, with follow (if you were about a ball or two higher than what the six is pictured). With follow to the rail and out for the 4 as breakshot, you have a bigger target area for postion. because you have it going towards the rail and back out off the rail.

traveling behind the 4 after shooting the 6 can be more treturousas with what happened in your situation. plus you have a small target area to get position, and speed control is alot more sensitive...

Dont get me wrong, i am just trying to help...you made a great attempt to recover on your breakshot that you had been left, but unfortunatly the rack didnt think so !

Keep up the good play !
