Best Rail Height?

Hi, what would the best rail height be for Championship tour edition K66 cushions? I have an old Big 'G' with 1 3/4 high rails. The new K66 I had put on it barely gives me 3.5 lengths rebound hitting a ball real hard, though the cushion nose is right at 1 13/32, cusions glued on solid and the rails are bolted down solid. I'm thinking this cushion/rail combination just isn't a good one. Any thoughts? Thanks, Steve

Wish I could help you here, but I can't, because there's more to the cushions that just replacing them if you're going to get that table to play right. Some trade secrets are not meant to be thrown out there for all to see...sorry;) and from the few that know for sure....I think are just like me when it comes to giving out this kind of info.;)

My, we're certainly full of ourselves, aren't we?

table speed

how was the rebound before cushions were changed . try it with a medium
speed shot . 2 1/2 - 3 lengths sounds good to me. 3 lengths or 27 ft.
is a lot of roll. not much , john at QBS

The old cushions (Imperial) gave me 4 1/2 lengths of rebound vs. 3 1/2 for the new ones with a hard, break speed hit. I don't know what a medium hit would be, that's pretty subjective. Also, the old cushion noses were about 1/8 inch higher than the new ones. The reason I replaced them was because they un-glued from the rail in a few places (dead spots) and the pockets were cut/covered pretty sloppy. I'm just trying to get opinions on what the problem(s) might be. I'd expected the new cushions to be at least as lively.

Glen,
I hope all is well with you. As for you wanting to keep your trade secrets to yourself, I certainly understand. No magician wants to teach someone else how to pull a rabbit out of a hat!!! :bow-down:
I look forward to you installing a Diamond Pro-Am for me when the time comes. Take care my friend...
