texas open, septembe 3-6 in round Rock texas

Thanks Lewis!

I have not been in Skinny Bob's in about 1 month but we converse frequently. They have added flat screened TV"S, The air units have been replaced, and all tables are being recovered with Simonis instead of Championship this year. We also will have 2 more tables to use this year which will make a huge difference in scheduling this year.
There is a strict dress code requiring no open toed shoes, long pants and collared shirts. However if you wear the Skinny Bob's t-shirts that will be okay. We all know that Labor day weekend in Austin is a HOOT TIME!
This is also going to be getting attention from channel 7 Fox network. This tournament has a lot of history.

this is awesome!

Sounds like the new ownership is serious about taking this tournament to the next level. That's great news, because there really is a lot of history in this tournament and has the potential to be considered an upper echelon classic for years to come.

As far as the dress code... I've heard "strictly enforced" for a few years now... is there a new level of strictly enforced this year? I personally would like to see it happen because a lot of people make the effort to adhere to the rules, and when they are broken and not enforced it is a little frustrating.

I understand your feeling about this. In2009 the air froze up and probably the hottest Labor Day in recent history. It was miserable and just awful. The dress code was lifted, allowing shorts and sandals and whatever, It helped some but not a lot.
"Every" precaution is being taken to avoid that scenario again. I lost about 10 pounds that weekend and never hit a ball. LOL!
One person who spent nearly $8000 in the calcutta was sent out tho change though.
For the life of me, I have never understood why a dress code is an issue?? Long pants, collared shirt, and no open toed or toad shoes does not seem something that should be so difficult to me.JMO!

9 foot gold crowns with Champoionship as usual

9 foot gold crowns with Simonis 860HR and the buckets being closed up to
4 1/2" pocket openings per Mo at A-Tex Billiards on Burnett Road in
Austin who has the contract to re-cover those tables.

Everyone is wondering which cue ball we will be using. Hopefully not the spotted cue ball. We are trying to figure out which cue ball to practice with because the spooted ball and red circle play completely different.
Thanks

As far as I know, it will be the red circle ball. I have heard no talk of the Measle Ball at all.

Why dont u take a poll of everyone that pre enters by the early deadline...Ask everyone which cueball they want and go from there........Measle ball is a much better ball though....Red circle is for players with no stroke, lol

It has been decided that we will use the red circle cue balls this year as in years past.

After a couple of days it feels heavy too LOL!
