Another pay pal nightmare

I wondered why some members on here refuse to use pay pal , Well now I know !!! I switched accounts on my pay pal , so I removed the account I had used for years that was a joint account of my wifes and mine. So I added a account that I also had for years but was just mine and I made sure I removed the info of the old one. Well needless to say I bought a new J Flowers 3x6 case and paid thru pay pal. Well guess which one they tried takeing funds out of and put me in the RED ?
I was just getting ready to close this account out anyhow cause my wife and I never used this one anyhow I just used it when I wanted something from pay pal , then I would transfer money to the old account that I needed. But it was getting old so my wife just told me to close that account and the bank card and just put the one I always have the money in. Well I did this this way cause I was unsure about pay pal in the first place and only ever had enough money in there for what I was spending so incase someone got my pay pal info they could not rip me off ..LOL. Well needless to say pay pal says they cant do nothing but write me back a letter or email asking not to charge me for a over draft. LMAO !! Do you believe this. I removed that first account info from them or at least I thought I did, cause it said I did and that was how. So just becareful of what they are useing for accounts to be taken out of if you are changeing or if you have more then one. The lady said that it must have only realized that I only used that one account for so long and jusy approved it . Even know there were no funds available, well not that much anyhow cause I was closeing it. But I asked her what about the new account I added the day I cancelled the old one. That dont they look to see what account is available or if anything has been changed before they authorize the transaction ? She said they useually do but in this one case they didnt. So I asked her if pay pal was going to pay my fee's and for anything, and she said it states in pay pal that they arent responsible for things that accur like this ,,,she says I signed that I read that when I signed up for pa pal... Well to make along story short I will be going to the bank in the morning to give them pay pals email asking them not to charge me for pay pals mistake...lol. What do you think they will say ,,,HUH .!
JUST BECAREFUL WITH PAY PAL. I now know what so many others went through now ,,,,,they suck :p !!!<<ED

I have a paypal only account.Nothing goes in or out unless it`s a paypal transaction.I used to have it linked to one of my regular checking accounts but after reading so many horror stories I set up that way so They couldn`t mess with any of my other funds.
 
Now to top it off after I was on thge phone with the nit from pay pal I said I wanted to talk to a manager and she said to me that a manager is not going to be able to do anything cause that is their policy. Well a manager calls my house phone and ask for me and all he says is basically what the lady told me what she was reading off of a sheet of paper, thats what it sounded like anyways. Oh and he also says pay pal doesn't like when someone talks to their employees the way I talked to the lady ..:eek: I said to the manager what account is on my profile . He read me the # off and he says that # has been on there since 7-23-10 , and the other one was removed on 7-23-10 . He still doesn't have an explanation of how they used the one that was taken off on the 7-24-10. And he still stands behind they will not pay any fee's to customers banking instution !! So no matter what happens they are not responsible for losing our money. Or any damage they do to our accounts ...I guess all I can do is take their email to the bank and hope they accept it ,,,I doubt it <<ED
 
PayPal is the best thing to happen to the internet..i do all my

transactions though them..the save my recipts and if you have.multiple

accounts you can choose which one the money comes from...it

generates sucure cards that no one gets my info..its hard for anyone

it is the best..sorry that you had problems..but you have to wait at

least a week before you try anyting..only way i want to do buisness..

been doing it for over 900 transactions..not a problem..i think maybe

you need to relook at the set up you have..trust me..its the best!!!

Once you get it together..i think you will agree..only a minute amout

of folks have trouble with it..fortunately not me..lol..SA
 
15 years and over 500 transaction and never had one issue with them. They are the safest way to deal and if a seller doesnt want to use paypal its a red flag in my book.

thats for backup funds..they require that..that is what makes it so
good..you can pay from a checking account..but if you are short
for some reason..they will take the remainder from a credit card
or what ever source you set up..love the service..SA

I just don't see how they can use an account that I removed the day before, and my new account was added the same day. I even looked to make sure The #'s that were up on the screen to make sure my account I just added the day before was listed and not the old # and you find that on your profile and account info . It's like who ever does the releaseing of the funds didnt get the memo that the accounts were changed on my info and profile .. I was just like you I also have alot of transactions thru pay-pal and I thought the same as you !!:eek: I know from now on though only make sure they can get what funds I want them to, and only use one account at all on pay-pal :confused: <,ED

But they did not even go to my new account at all to get the funds or the remainder .. Thats what the manager and the lady that aswers the phones dont understand ..I dont know maybe it will all be taken care of tomorrow. I hope , I already got my case and Im sure my bank already made good for me cause they know what I have in all my other accounts. I only found out cause I was looking online banking and caught it tonight. I hope it is just a mistake and thats all ,But it just worried me cause the lady that was on the phone acted like she dont know why, it just happens ..and the manager wasnt much help either, he just said go to may bank and give them the email that says it was their (pay-pal ) mistake..but banks are money hungry themselves,,I dont think they will take it off << maybe we will see <<ED

I have not had too many bad transaction with PayPal, but I have heard about a lot. I don't know why you made your first post about how they great they are....you must be up for a promotion at PayPal!:grin-square:

Back up source is debit card to that account.They can only get it from that account.
And as far as paypals buyer saftey promise it`s b.s.
A few years ago I bought a 23ft wellcraft center console boat of ebay.Drove 4 hours to get it then found out after I paid for it they couldn`t find the trailer for the boat(boat stayed on the water)The sellers rented me a trailer(which I had to go get) to take the boat home and they promised to bring the correct trailer to my house and then return the rental.I had to sign for the rental eventhough the sellers rented it because I was the one picking it up.
5 days go by and I still didn`t have the trailer and the rental is still at my house.The rental place calls me and ask if I have the trailer.I told them that the renters were supposed to have already brought me my trailer and returned the rental but I haven`t had any luck talking to them.The rental place threatens to call the police because I was the one that picked it up and I was responsible for returning it.They also said the renters credit card was now being declined.I had to drive 4 hours(1way) to return the trailer so I wouldn`t get in any trouble.
The auction stated the trailer was included in the ebay auction.I ended up filing a claim with paypal(used buy it now $6000)and had several emails from the sellers stating they owed me the trailer but couldn`t produce it.
Paypal denied my claim.I called them and the people on the phone that worked for paypal couldn`t beleive I got denied(they read the emails and auction listing I sent them)I was told by paypal they wouldn`t cover it because it wasn`t a shipable item.I ask paypal how the trailer factory got the trailer to the dealers?By magic?They didn`t answer me.Then I got another email saying It was denied because the trailer was not pictured in the auction.After 4 more emails and evertime getting a different answer I dropped it(which is what they wanted I think) and sued the sellers to which I found out I was number 43.I never got the trailer or any money back.The seller had 200+ auctions on ebay and 100% positive feedback.He is no longer a registered seller on ebay and paypal never stood by there buyer saftey.
sorry for the long post and not pool related but it still pisses me of about paypal.

This guy must work for pay-pal or something he comes in on this thread saying how great they are. When I even said this was the only problem I ever had but I heard other horror stories and such. But now he started his own thread about how great pay-pal is. I dont know but all I wanted was answers to how they used a account that was removed the day before and another added , before transaction the next day. And they cant give me any answers . Just it came out of the bank account of the removed card :confused: .. and they didnt even try to use the new account that is listed .. I just don't know !!:angry:<<ED

Two things (you've probably already checked):
1) make sure your old account is not the default source of funds.
2) make sure your old account is not a backup source of funds.

I just went to the bank and had everything taken care of. But they told me banking sources do not recommend pay-pal and if you dont need to just use a Visa card for in just such cases. Everything is taken care of but I did just learn that they took the amount out of my account that I took off the day before I made the transaction, but they also tried double billing to get it from my card listed now as well but wasnt issued. After spending a hour on the phone with pay-pal I will just remove the new account info that I added the day before the transaction that they didnt use anyhow. And add back the account that they took funds from but which I just add what I need when I make a transaction. I think I will be safer this way , if they dont have access to take more then they are supposed to or double billing. My whole problem was with the customer service as the ladt could not tell me why this happened and just said pay-pal will not be responsible for fees. So needless to say pay-pal didn't help me with the problem I did it myself by going to my bank. So their customer service was no help what so ever, by just reading off a sheet of paper of what to say to me. Like I said this was my first bad experience with them in years of useing them but It was one i dont want again. <<ED
 
I've had a Paypal account since 2000 and never had a problem - knock on wood.

I'm glad you got it straightened out. I hate to hear stories like this.

Car guy forums I go to have had enough horror tales about bad paypal experiences that I decided to never go that route. Sometimes it prevents me from buying a T shirt or donating...but otherwise I survive pretty well without it.

My checks don't bounce...and plenty of people are glad to take 'em...

I can hardly understand what you are trying to say but it sounds like the wrong paypal account being charged would have been a problem on your side. Not paypal.
