I went to gilbertcues.com & got a Warning stating the site had software harmful to my computer. I left & checked out other sites. Anyone know what is going on? I wonder if Mr. Gilbert is aware of this? It was a scary warning.

I did a Google search

to see if there was another web site from him but it is the only one listed. Odd thing about it was even the google search showed a warning.

I got a google warning aswell. I clicked anyways and it opened another warning page, even tho I have a really good antivirus I didn't go to his site for now. Someone should send an e-mail to him.

That is not Andy's site. That site was set up by a dealer for his cues at one time and Andy has no say so in the monitoring of the site. That is how I understood it to be anyway.

same happened to my site

As far as site owners having their sites hacked, depending on your CMS software, you should have an auto-ban function for people trying to login with false credentials or brute-forcing their way in. Weak and/or easily socially-engineered passwords are usually how people get in.

no, that virus just shows the sight as continually loading for two years and then tells you it didn't know you were trying to log on:thumbup:

Some pieces of human garbage just did this with my intoshape.net site. Go Daddy suspended my domain until the content was removed. It is called phishing. They try to steal info so the can use it . In my case it was a fake Paypal acct. Had to get my site guy to fix the problem..And so it cost me

I don't believe Andy hosts his own site.

Anyone who wants to contact Gilbert Custom Cues should call.

Don't hold a web site warning against him. He makes a great cue and he and Vikki are teriffic people!

Correct, that's not Andy's site and it's never been administered by him. Maybe that site has expired and has a new 'owner'. If anyone needs to reach Andy, it'a always best to call...or you can email (gilbertcues@msn.com).

I don't think anyone would be targeting billiard sites in particular. On the grand scale, they just don't get enough hits to be an effective source of spreading malware. What's really being targeted is the server that the site is hosted on. If the server is compromised, then ALL sites it hosts (billiards or whatever) are susceptible to spreading malware.
