Champions Frederick

So I went to Champions in Frederick Saturday for the first time and I really liked the place. It has great memorabilia, tons of TVs for game watching, but my beef is the lighting. I have a table at my house with a great Diamond light so everything is bright. I thought I was playing in a cave. I do not remember pool rooms this dark when I was growing up. Is that what it is like these days?

Does lighting matter to anyone else?

Dark is the MOVE, imo. The perfect pool room for me is dark everywhere except a Diamond-style light above the table.

I just went to that room a few weeks ago for a 14.1 lesson with Sigel. That room was pretty sweet, I thought.

The room is awesome, but I thought the lights over the table were way too dim. My diamond light at home is great and I can play with no other lights on. those lights were awful, but I will be back as I did like the atmosphere of the room.

Yes, I agree that the lights are too dim at Champions. I didn't really notice this until last year when my cataracts arrived.

At home I practice with low lights just to get used to playing under those conditions. :grin-square: I don't turn on my pool table light unless it is freezing in the barn. In the summer they must bump the temperature up a degree or so.
