My Fish Bone TAD

Here is one of my Tads. I got this one from Best Billiards in Santa Ana, CA somewhere about 1993. Oh BTW it plays great also. Both shafts have Moori hards and they date about the same (I purchased a dozen or so at that time).

Scot Sherbine at Proficient Billiards just completed a refinish and it looks better than new.

ENJOY

Hi guys,

I have this great TAD cue and would like to know if the weight can be changed? And how to do it? Do they have a weight bolt? etc.

Thanks much!

I spoke to Fred Kohara a few weeks ago regarding the same issue. He informed me that indeed their cues are weighted under the wrap. But, he could only increase the weight of the cue not make it lighter.

Happy 2011 everyone!

Thanks buddy for posting the pics, not bad pics for me, I got lucky. perhaps those are the best pics i ever took, the sun was comming into the room. Its the first time I ever took a pic worh 2 cents, it was a iPhone so I couldnt get a good "Whole Cue" shot.

I really like this cue, I never saw one like it, I traded another cue for it(sorry wont say what it was) It was a bad deal $$$ wise, but I hated the other cue(for more reasons I wont mention) LOL, so now when I see this cue I'm happy, I like purple, it appears to be some sort of stone-dont look plastic like Viking and Bushka used or Marblelite, the blue stuff looks like that material knife makers use for handles, some sort of high pressure resin, Its clear i'm not to sharp when it comes to manufactured materials, I just know ivory.

The veneer colors are great as well, I hope they dont fade, some times purple will get off color over time. Cue appears to be new. I'm happy, I love Tads. I need to get pics of one other real old Tad I have-the "Tad Pole" one, mine is real old and has a ring of delrin just below the wrap.

It is stone, they have been making quite a few cues with stone type inlays lately.

i could really get into that. I'm going to go see Fred and Tad one of these days. I like the blue cue in the pic with the ivory handled cue a few posts up. There are so many cool things that can be done with stone, I dont like turquoise, or that green stone some other cue makers use, but blue and purple are really cool. I'm looking foward to seeing what else pops up next.

I can 2nd what Zirroe said as confirmed, I've seen cues in-progress at TAD's that have stone inlays. They've been making a few cues like this for some time, but you won't see them on J&J's website. They're quite rare and most are 1of1.

Here's a TAD i was lucky to test play with and i must say one of the best cues ive ever played with. Something about the wrap felt so good when ever i hit a ball.
