Well title says it all really... anyone? Or even better, from Jersey City? Me and a few students from my school seem to be the only ones around here that would love to take pool seriously and into the pros... I haven't really seen any hardcore pool halls around here... I wish we had more =[

I live in Jersey City (the hights). There are a lot of great pool rooms in Jersey and NYC, but nothing much in Jersey City. Willow in Hoboken is the only thing 'walkable' for me. I mostly play in nyc.

Castle Billiards and Sandcastle Billiards are the only two other rooms I've been to in Jersey, both short drives away, are great rooms with action, tournaments and good tables.
 
Walkable!! I live in the heights too and I've walked to willow! Mind if I ask around where you live haha... I'm on palisade ave. I've heard of castle but never been.. I also heard of Amsterdam in NY.. been thinking of going there
 
I play out of Castle most days...and can be found bouncing back and forth between quite a few places...

Castle is good....13 tables although one is a house table triple shimmed..there is a 4.5" table and the rest are normal . Full bar and killer cooks in the kitchen...Leagues Monday thru Thursday...can usually find action if you are looking...

i live in hoboken and run the 14.1 league out of willow. there's players of all levels that play out of there. are you looking for a coach? because there's an Open player that frequents the joint and might be able to give instructions. also, it's the same poolhall that WPBA pro Emily Duddy calls home.

We live I'm the same hood. I'm on central. Only table I know of is a bar table on congress at a place called "the screw" or "cork screw" somehing like that.

I've been to willow maybe 4 times. I prefer taking the path into manhattan for Amsterdam, society ect.
 
You have Clifton Billiards and breakers in Clifton.
Guys and Dolls in bellville.
Crown billiards in Pompton Lakes (Tues Tourney)
 
Plenty of pool halls within 30-40 minutes of Jersey City, if you have a car.

For that matter, Hi Tech Billiards is also close to Willow, in Weehauken(?), by the riverfront.

i'm another in jc heights. been playing in weehawken-high tech. castle is great. haven't been to the rooms in clifton. a few years back, herbert's in secaucus was the best around, but closed after a long downhill spiral.

i have an 8 footer in the basement, smoke some cigars, drink some scotch and hit a few balls in when i have some visitors.

Your kidding!? We may have met haha... how often do you go there? I play for their team in APA.
