I saw the end of the Strickland - Jesse Engle match last night and Earl came from behind to go ahead 10-9 and he scratched on the break and Jesse ran out to make it 10-10. Jesse broke and it went back and forth until Earl made a safety error and Jesse ran out like a seasoned pro. Jay warned Earl a couple of times about talking and threatened to take a game away if he said one more word. It was quite a finish to the match. Efren looked like a machine in his match.

Huidji (with an 'i') See is from Holland and took 3rd at this years Straight Pool World Championship. And lost in the finals in 2007 (I think) to Oliver Ortmann. Still pretty unknown I guess, but he got some good results in the USA. I think he won the 10-ball division during the Q-lympics (don't remember what year that was).

He's been a part of the Dutch national team for a few years now. While that may not say much to people who aren't familiar with Dutch pool community, it does mean he can hang with players such as Nick van den Berg en Niels Feijen. Who have mainstays since forever. That's pretty strong in itself.

I used to play with him a lot a while back, but he's gone semi-pro/pro and moved to another more competitive part of Holland. Yes, he tortured me a lot! And I like to believe I'm a decent player. I once ranked 13th in Holland, when I was playing tournaments.

You're correct, it was the 2007 14.1Championship that he finished 2nd to Oliver Ortmann. I have had the pleasure of watching See at various events over the last few years and I enjoy watching the young man play. His demeanor on and off the table says a lot about the man. He stays composed and seems to be quick with a smile from what I have observed. Mr. See is an asset to the pool world.
