Ob classic bent shaft, now its not

So i get this OB Classic shaft in the mail. I open it , roll it on the table, and Holy $%^#@ , the tip comes off the table about 1-2 inches. WHat the hell. So Im ready to return it, then I decided to go ahead and give it a good hard bend in the other direction and then roll it to see what happens, and low and behold, now its perfect. What the heck is that all about. I called OB and they said, yea, that can happen sometimes, he's seen it happen before with lots of different shafts. HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN THIS? I have lots of cues and not one has done that.

No, haven't seen that. Wood bends but pops back to pretty much where it was. That also is a huge amount of bend. I would tap the shaft on the table to see if there is any looseness caused by internal delamination - something is not right.

Yes!!!

I had that happen with 3 different cues! I bought a Paul Huebler that had not been played with in years and it had about a 1/8 of an inch rollout. I hit a couple of balls with it and it straighten right up. I had bought an Adam cue the same way, it had not been played with for a long time but after about an hour of playing time it was perfectly straight. I bought an OB-2 and it was so bad I exchanged it for another one that was not perfect but better than the first one and after playing with it, it was perfectly straight and still is. Go figure.
 
Thats just a little trick that you can do to laminated shafts.

I had 2 Predator shafts that were bent. One of our talented cuemaker/members here sent me a PM and explained how to do it.
You figured it out by yourself.
If you ever need to do it again, I hope not, just make sure that you don't bend it too far. Just a little at a time does the trick, until its straight, ot at the very least, that the tip doesn't flip off the table.
