Just spoke with Nick and found out that he will be performing a exhibition at Bullshooters on Saturday night at 7.00pm. If you are not a partof the tournament don't worry bring your friends and have fun with one of the greatest players in history. His exhibitions are fun and entertaining.

I also saw that he is doing a pool clinic on Tuesday (tomorrow) from 2-6 and on Wednesday also 2-6. Contact Roger Long at 602-320-9553 if you would like to sign up for those.

I also realize that mid week isn't always easy to get to and so after talkingto Nick he agreed that he will do another one on Sunday after the Cardinals game from 2-6. The fee is the same $150 per person and is limited to 6 students. I will take a little weight off of Roger with this one so if you are interested in participating on Sunday and learning tips of the trade etc from a 8 time World Champion and Hall of Famer please feel free to contact me personally at 480-612-7732 Mark Cantrill.

Good Luck Mark! I hope enough people take advantage of this valuable time with one of the all time greats!

(Sorry we got cut off on the phone yesterday, I was on the subway on my way back to my hotel from Masters Billiards and we went underground.)

Mark:

Thank you so much for jumping in and helping with this. You're a real trooper.

Roger

Someone dropped the ball (pretty sure it was me :o) and word didn't get out in time to fill all the spots in Nick's clinic at Bull Shooters yesterday.:sorry:

That didn't matter too much, however, as Nick proceeded to show his professionalism by first giving the lower turnout more than their money's worth, then mingling with the league players for a couple of hours, and then by playing some cheap sets with a couple of challengers who thought they might stand a chance with him on the bar box. (Don't know the final outcome of that; it was beddybye time for me.)

Nick will be around Phoenix through the end of the week. He is scheduled to hold a clinic at 43rd Ave. Tavern today from 2-6 and I think there is still one spot open for that. I don't know what he has scheduled for Friday, but Saturday he is putting on an exhibition at Bull Shooters at 7:00PM, and on Sunday there will be another clinic at Bull Shooters from 2-6 for which there are still spots open. There is also a chance that Mike Howerton (AzHousePro) might be attending this class.:grin::grin:

Anyone interested in signing up for the clinic can call me at 602-320-9553, or call Mark Cantrill at 480-612-7732.

Funniest part of those cheap sets is when the Varner was racking and Oscar went up to the rack, leaned in close to take a look, and then told him he wanted it re-racked. Varner just kind of looked at him. I think it bugged him a little and he started telling Oscar what he thought of the situation.

Anyone that knows Oscar knows thats his thing...lol

Nick is a class guy all the way. I look forward to him coming back to Baltimore one day soon.

Oh, man. Oscar is on my 8-ball team. I'm gonna have to have a talk with that boy.

Just before I left, Nick came over and asked, "Is this guy a hothead, or something?" I told him, no way; that's just Oscar's way of kidding people. I hope Oscar didn't go overboard after I left.

nah...he didn't go overboard...well...I guess you gotta ask Varner about that...they continued playing and were talking after for a while actually...but it was still funny :)

that would be like telling Randy Johnson that his arm slot is all wrong when he throws his fastball
