My new Josey

I usually wouldn't start a thread like this because many have already done this before and its kind of repeating the same thing over again, but i just got my Josey cue today and i love it. :grin-square:

My cue is exactly like the one listed on the joseycues site, well maybe the ebony is a little darker but that's about the only difference.

I ended up waiting much longer then quoted for the Josey, but it was definitely worth the wait. The cue looks fantastic and everything is perfect. I paid extra for Keith to make it have a 17 inch balance point and he hit it on the nose. I'm 100% happy with my purchase. I thought this would be another cue that i try out for a while and then resell looking for something new, but i can honestly say this cue will be my main player and remain in my case for years to come.

Just wanted to share that with many of the Josey fans out there and let people know Keith makes one hell of a cue.
 
I totally agree that Keith Josey makes a great looking cue that plays good too. Keith and Sharri are super nice people to work with.
 
How long you wait for keith to build your sneaky??? I'm their future customer Because i already promise them to build me a cue in the future:grin:

I think it was roughly 7 months.

Not sure what the wait time is now; he might have more orders, but after shooting with the cue it's 100% worth the wait.

Keith and Sherri are excellent people to work with and i'm glad i pulled the trigger and ordered a Josey.

Btw i do not know Keith or Sherri personally and I don't get anything for saying good things about Josey cues. It's just a side effect after shooting with a Josey lol.

I can only confirm your statements. Keith and Sherri are very nice people. The craftmanship of their cues is excellent and it is a pleasure to deal with them.:thumbup2:

Zivan I have almost the exact same cue ordered as well. The same spear points. Mine will have 2 sets. One each at the points top and bottom. Mine will be in Bocote with a Hoppe butt. 2 shafts 1 with an Everest and one hard tip to be determined when Sherry contacts me after the Open. Looking for about 19" balance point and 18.2 to 18.5. Supposed to be done at the end of the month. Can't wait.

Glad you love yours. I ordered mine at the SBE in March. I'm hoping it will be all I think it will be.

I'm sure you will love it, and it will be worth the wait for sure. The fit and finish are top notch. I ordered mine with a 17 inch balance point, 20.5-21oz total, and everything was perfect. I can't find anything i don't like about the cue because it's exactly what i wanted. Now i have no excuses and gotta work on that stroke lol.

LMAO! Keith makes terrific playing cues that sell themselves once you get one in your hands. Owners of these cues cannot help but rave about them. I know that I look forward to every time I get to play, because I get to play with my Josey. Makes me smile every time I pull it out of the case and put it together...and call me crazy, but I give it a lil' peck before every first break...LoL. Yeah, you could say I love my Josey!!

Keith is still running a one man shop, to the best of my knowledge. I am guessing he has gotten quite busy this year, thus the longer build times. But yes, they are definitely worth the wait!!

I just ordered a cue today from them and Mrs. Sherri gave me a quote of 6-8 months. I only live an hour and a half away so I will be stopping by the shop to pick it up.
 
Nice cue! hope you enjoy it! just a few questions for the new josey owner. what's the diamater of the tip did you use on your new josey?

how much different would a 13 mm tip would be compared to lets say 12.75 or even 12.85? In terms of its stiffness. Will it be noticeably less stiffer?

I can answer this for you...as I had Keith make mine at 12.85mm, although my previous one was at 13mm. I have noticed absolutely no difference in regards to the overall stiffness of the shafts between 13mm and 12.85mm. I have a standard shaft and a Timeless Timber shaft...the Timeless Timber shaft being the stiffest of the two.

No problem...it really isn't difficult to speak to a product you really believe in. I figured that since I had some experience between the two different shaft diameters, I could lend my insight. I am glad it was helpful for you.

I don't 'know' the Joseys personally...but they have managed to make me 'feel' like I am part of their extended family. They have treated me graciously and fairly in my dealings with them, and I have found that working with them has been a delight.

There was a real 'comfort level' with regards to trust while discussing the specs with Keith and Sherri, and if there was a question, they did not hesitate to either email, call, or both. They are very well oiled machine, and work extremely well together. They treat their customers like gold.

Keith exceeded my expectations in not only creating a beautiful looking cue for me, but one that plays every bit as good as I could have possibly hoped for. It is my daily player, and will be for a long time to come. I would have zero hesitation in ordering from them again, and hope to be able do so someday.

Lisa you took the words out of my mouth. My experiences have been similar. Never more than a few days before I had an answer to any question, stupid or not. I've made 1/2 dozen changes to my original order. Smooth as glass. Sherry took care of it all. They even are going to put an Everest on one shaft. Even though they don't use them. I mailed them one and no problem it's going to be put on for a small fee. Hand picked shafts and the list goes on.

This is my first Custom cue from inception. I bought a coupla used ones. This is my first custom done to my taste. I don't think I could be happier. Just wish it was done. But I can wait. Perfection takes time. And I have no fears because Kieth will give me just that.

BTW I met both of them at the SBE in PA. They are just as nice in person. A little reserved, but as kind and cheerful as you could want. I talked to Kieth for a bit about what I wanted. Sherry wasn't there yet. Told Him I'd contact them by E-Mail when I was ready. Went on my way. Thought about it for a coupla hours. Marched right back to their booth and spoke to Sherry and ordered it on the spot. Glad I did.
