Played tournament over weekend, had a lot of problems with balls coming down wrong. Cue coming down with other balls, and 2 or 3 balls coming down where cue is supposed to almost every game. Lack of maintenance? Or something else?

The optical sensor is not dialed in properly, or they weren't using the right cue ball for the table. Diamond Smart Table have an optical density sensor where other tables have a magnet or a counter weight to return the cue ball. The 1 and 5 balls are close in pigment density to the cue ball, so if it's not dialed in right, it can trigger those balls to return, or if it's adjusted the other direction can cause the cue ball to roll down with the other balls. The wrong cue ball can also not be picked up properly.

did the cue ball fail to separate every time? also if the sensor is adjusted too far away from the balls it will give alot of false readings.
Here's one you didn't know about because I didn't tell you about this, but say a bar owner buys Diamond tables after they get rid of their Valleys....but they kept the spare balls. Now, some of the balls come up missing on the Diamonds..so, no big deal, bar owner has spare balls....only they're Aramith Premier or Premium balls...which are as hard density wise as the red circle cue ball so.....every one of them balls will come back the cue ball return
