Please pardon my ignorance in advance...

Can someone tell me what the "points" on a cue refer to?

I've heard sticks referred to as "no point players" and I'm a little confused as to what this means.

Welcome! Glad you came along, i wondered the samething for 35 yrs but didn't have the balls to ask!....I'm just kidding. The points are anything that has a point in the front (forearm)of the butt, although the points could be on any part of the butt. Normally they refer to points coming out of the wrap towards the joint of the cue. hope this helps....jeff

and to make things even more confusing, the actual points are the darker colored section that is purpleheart wood on that particular cue. Running further than the purpleheart points are the veneers, and on this cue, they are one-sided. Disregard the arrow furthest to the left on both points.

Why did I choose the Chudy to illustrate points? :confused::D:p
