Gold Crown V

I am considering updating my pool room with new (or newer) tables and was wondering what if any feed back I could get relating to the Gold Crown V. Also I heard that Brunswick manufacturing was now overseas and was wondering what if any impact that had on quality. I have limited (but good) experience with Gold Crown IV and would not be opposed to going with used G.C. IVs if they were in very good shape. Thanks in advance. Mark

Hi Mark,

The GC 5 has a heavier frame than the 4, some cosmetic changes, castings, ball storage box etc.... Very similar to the 4 in most aspects.
You'll save a lot of money buying good used GC 4 over new GC 5.

You should also consider the Diamond Pro AM. Less money than a GC5. Super well built, much better leveling system and Diamond does financing if you should need it.

thanks

thanks A-1. How tight do the stock pocket play on the Diamond vs the GC V. My partner had a GC III that played way easy and that is what I want.

The GC 5 is available in a tournament edition with 4.5 inch corners, same dimension as the Diamond. The standard GC V or IV has 5 inch corners.
The Diamond is standard with 4.5 inch corners, but I think if you told them you wanted an easier pocket they would find a way to accommodate you. Brian Miller is the guy to call.

that's right, order your tables with league cut pockets.
