Does Every Room Have One of These

now I understand the frustration of someone who buys the newest gadgets and such believe me, but how i see it is: there are more average shooters in the world and people are always complaining (especially in the pool world) how there is no money being spent. and the sport of pool isn't as prolific as we'd like. so based on the ammount of average shooters, if they have cash to spend, why not, it will keep the starving cue makers who otherwise might not sell as much, alive

if they only sold to A players you'd have like 2 cue makers making any money. JMHO

HA!!!! richie,as long as i known you, you used the same cue & you also know who im refering to,in fact i just got back from the room & low & behold he had another new cue today. While there he calls someone & comes back to our table with a 2oz gold cross with a 1/4 c. diamond in it & says"i'll take $500 for it" & the friend im practicing with throws the cash at him(could have tripled his money at a pawn shop),i ask why did he just do that & his reply was "i got a chance to buy mika's cue from the U.S Open",i just shook my head

Gerry,he only wish he had my 3 cues,one of which i got right off of gus's living room rack that was his player,i'll tell that story at a later time but all day with gus,supper & a cue,that man was so nice to me i"ve yet to see a person equal him in that department.

Nope. I've never met a single player who thought that buying a more expensive cue will make him a better player. I've met a zillion players who have bought a better quality cue that made him play better, a different cue that fit their stroke better, or a lower deflection cue that helped them make shots (not that lower is better, but it helped them).

But, as many people that i've met that own expensive cues, not one of them bought it because they thought the additional money made them a better player. IMO, that's just an urban legend.

he didn't say it was expensive, just a more expensive cue.

I know tons of players that have had 150-300 productions that upgraded to 400-800 dollar cues just b/c of some LD or fancy schmancy tech BS.......urban legend my cue ball.

Now if your talking cues that are high end cues........then yea I cant remember anyone I know or met that spent 3k b/c they thought it would play better than their $1000 custom.

I don't have extremely high end cues. But mine are probably the most expensive in our room. But I don't let anyone touch mine much less try and get someone to try it out. Buy your own or shoot with a house stick. I work for my money and like to think I manage it pretty well. A whole lot of guys in a pool room don't and haven't hit a lick there whole life. So therefore they're not gonna get a chance to feel what it's like to hit a well balanced cue with a nice tip.

I think that he was quite clear of his question in his initial response to John Barton. I contend that I answered properly considering his clarification.
