best bang for buck case

In my experience box cases come apart very quickly, usually at the hinges. Plus you have hardly any room at all for accessories. I'd get a tube case 2x2's are under $50.
 
I ended up ordering a 2x2 tube case from ozone. I only have 1 cue right now but there will be extra space incase I ever want a break/jump cue.

Also bought ulti-mate cue tip tool

That box case you like will give you no flexibility at all for the future. It holds one butt and one shaft, and the accessory compartment is probably rather small (I have not seen it).

If you are at all serious about pool, you will soon want to be able to carry more than 1x1. You may want to add another shaft or maybe a break/jump cue or maybe separate break and jump cues. For about the same price as that box cue, you could get something that has more capacity for both cue parts and accessories.

I'll link to one possibility. The link is a 2x4 case, but it also comes in 2x2 and 2x3 to get a little below or above your target price.

Like above cuesight is the place to go. The economic cases are made by john barton and he uses the same interior in them as his custom cue cases so only difference is leathers used and workmanship of the leather (tooled and stuff not workmanship of the case.) Work man ship of the cases are hands down awesome! Even the economic ones!

I also think J&J America is a good choice for cases, they carry everything from Instroke, to cheap imports, to some nice American made products. They are great people to deal with and they take care of their customers very well after the sale.

They have these type of 1x1 tube cases for (you guessed it) $1.00 each.

Unbeatable for the money in my opinion. To me there's no debate.
 
Ozone cases are very good. The strap has no padding which if carrying your case for hours at a tournament can suck but the over all quality is first rate for the price.

i bought a nice 3x5 from aska billiards that was great with lots of features for a cheaper case, two pockets with a jump cue pocket, spring loaded butt tubes, and really sturdy, it cost me about 65 bucks shipped. nothing visually fancy, but very functional.
 
Box cases do not last unless made very well.

I would recommend the JB case to you.

I picked up one of the Sterling 3x6 cases similar to the black one above but for more like $85 or $90 and it really is just as nice in materials as the more expensive cases out there. It is however much nicer in how your cues are held and protected when compared to most other cases for twice the price.

Your money would be smartly spent on a Sterling case by JB.
