Mezz vs Schon

I am looking into purchasing a cue from one of these manufacturers. I'm looking for opinions, insight, pros/cons, etc from people that have played either or (preferably) both. I'm pretty sure I can't go wrong with either, but still want to see what you all have to say. Unfortunately because of the area I live in, I can't really go out and try either of these cues. I know one person that has a Schon, but definitely don't know anyone with a Mezz. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
 
i played with a mezz cue and it hits good.IMO,i hits better than predator.on the hand,schon cue,hits much stiffer.i'd like more control on my cue ball so i like the schon better.

I would buy the Schon, because long term the Mezz will not hold it's value. Now I am not saying that Mezz cues are not built well, or that even over time they will not hold up well, but because they are imports they will never be sought after and hold their value.

A good example of this is Adam / Helmstetter Custom cues, for the amount of work that went into them, along with their beautiful / unique designs they are not valued today the same as similar quality American made cues. Take Palmer Custom Cues for instance the Adam Cues are as well built, play as well, and have held up over time as well but any Palmer is worth more than 3 times what a similar Adam / Helmstetter cue would sell for today.

Oh and by the way, the Mezz cues are made in the same factory that the Adam / Helmstetter cues are still built in today by the same people.:) Now none of this may matter to you at all, but it would be nice if a quality cue would at least hold it's value if not increase in value if well taken care of.

I used a Mezz cue with its WD700 shaft, which I feel very stiff. If Schon is even stiffer than Mezz (WD700), I would say to me, Schon might be a bit too stiff.
 
Hit with both first before getting one you might not like ..
But my 2cents go schons are the NUTS , find a older one .They paly lights out,,
 
I've got a couple Schons if you want to get together and hit a few balls. I have one that is from the early 90's with the original shaft and a newer one with the Schon IV shaft. IMHO, you can't go wrong with a Schon.
 
I can say that I honestly have never heard a bad thing about Schon cues. And the majority of people that I know who shoot with them love em. As far as the Mezz goes. I don't know anyone who shoots with one. They make a nice break cue, but I haven't heard much about them beyond that.
